Megan Laursen is a Toronto-based director and writer with Danish-Barbadian roots. Megan has directed commercial spots for Ziobaffa and Coffee of Grace, Grace Hightower De Niro's coffee company, for The American Pavilion at the 71st Cannes International Film Festival. Megan has also written and directed Instagram spec commercial Be Like You (2020) and directed half-hour LGBTQ film When We Meet Again (2020).
Megan's psychological thriller pilot Reckless won Best Project out of seven television pitches at Steven Levitan's pitch competition (2019). The competition's panel of judges included: John Young of Boat Rocker Media, Rachel Nelson of Corus Entertainment and Mark Bishop of Marble Media. Reckless is available with international rights, along with her latest dystopian drama pilot, The One Percent (July 2020). Megan is also the co-creator of absurdist comedy web series The Kult (in development 2020) with IRL creator Bobby Del Rio.
Megan has a Bachelor of Arts in Media Production from Ryerson University's RTA School of Media. Her education also includes the Am I Covered? The Art of Visual Storytelling and Make 'Em Laugh for 90 Minutes intensives taught by award-winning script supervisor and comedy writer Daniela Saioni (WGC, DGC, IATSE 873).
