The Lost Clog

The lovechild of Victorian College of the Arts graduate Stepas Vytautas Levickis and fellow stalwart of the Melbourne-Lithuanian community, Gabrielle Staugaityte-Zdaniene, The Lost Clog brings together ten of Melbourne's least renowned singers to breathe new life into archaic Lithuanian songs of harvest, love, talking horses, ruined rue gardens, amorous toads, drunken goddesses, drunken mosquitoes, drunken sparrows and drunks. Formed in 2010, the ensemble of second-generation Lithuanian-Australians have since spread their love of village traditions and polyphonic harmonies at various festivals including the the internationally renowned Woodford Folk Festival in Queensland, and winning the Innovation in Culturally Diverse Practice Award at the 2011 Melbourne Fringe Festival. As well as appearing on Australian television's Spicks and Specks, the group were also featured on Lithuanian television's cultural showcase, Ryto Suktinis.

Joining Stepas and Gabrielle are cabbage enthusiast Jievute Marija Brovedanaite, amber aficionado Audra Daiva Simkute, Euro-pop beekeeper Jonukas Algirdukas Lipsiukas, sub-zero instrumentalist Aleksas Simonas Brovedani, extreme bi-linguist Daktaras Vytautas Stasys Henrikas Antanaitis Pirmasis, pre-Christian apothecary Lina Ona Didzyte-Skimbirauskiene, trans-Baltic werewolf sympathiser Jazmina Cininaite-Lipsiene and post-Soviet aerobics instructress Danielle Brown.
