Since he was a kid, he always wanted to become an actor. In his late twenties he decided to change his career path and dive into the world of acting. He hasn't looked back since.

Dirk loves writing screenplays. He wrote the scripts for Capo di Famiglia, Capo di Famiglia II, Capo di Famiglia III, HVIII: The Male Heir, A Royal Love and These Bloody Days. One of his acting teachers, Joost Buitenweg, told him: 'When they are not offering you the parts you are looking for, just create them'. So he did just that.

During pre-production of Capo di Famiglia II, Dirk suggested his former teacher, Joost Buitenweg, for the part of Caruso. Later on Joost played this part in the movie.

The Male Heir was the first time Dirk played the character of Henry VIII.

Dirk has won 2 awards for the same character at The Actors Awards in Los Angeles. For Capo di Famiglia he won the award for Best Actor. For Capo di Famiglia: Part II he won the award Best Performance of the Fest.

Dirk has won 2 awards for the same character at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival for Capo di Famiglia and Capo di Famiglia: Part II he won the award for Best Actor.

Last name: Gunther Mohr. Even though his last name might suggest otherwise, there is nothing Austrian or German about Dirk. He was born and raised in Den Haag, the Netherlands.

Dirk's favorite genre is drama, but he is very talented in comedy as well. Agency's also love casting him for (inter)national commercials.

Dirk is known and celebrated for his strong facial expressions. As Roy Zafrani, director of the Los Angeles Actors Awards put it: "I loved the way Dirk interpreted his character's dialogue [in Capo di Famiglia II], but more than that, I appreciated his silent moments. He can say (and at the same time hide) so much using expressions only. Such a wonderful performance.".

At the international film festivals Dirk has won many awards as best actor for his performances in Capo I, II and III. Capo III was his debut as a director, along with his colleague Fabienne Leenart. Many of Capo's co-stars and crew members have become good friends.
