Holly (Cara Buono) is dying. She and her loving and supportive husband Lyle (Chris Parnell) have been in a relationship for 30 years without ever feeling like they needed anyone other than each other. Their estranged Gen-z daughter Greta (Willows Sheilds) is not particularly fond of Holly – possibly because she had always been extremely strict towards her. However, at such an obvious juncture in her life, Holly questions if her being monogamous has restricted her from expressing and experiencing what she truly desires. Rob Margolies’ “In Fidelity” explores this aspect of a long-term relationship but with a frustratingly uninspired outlook.
“In Fidelity” introduces us to the urgency of Holly’s situation and the idea that she has never been in a romantic relationship ever in her life before meeting her husband Lyle. It’s obvious that the inevitability of her life slipping away might make her question it. However, director Margolies...

We all love Chris Parnell, thanks to his work on Saturday Night Live, his vocal performance as Jerry Smith on Rick and Morty and, of course, all of his free medical advice from 30 Rock. After years of reliably hilarious performances, Parnell is now taking a slightly more dramatic turn in the upcoming dramedy In Fidelity, which is all about a married couple who decide to “test the romantic boundaries of their monogamous relationship” with an open marriage.
While the movie won’t be released until November, the promotional push for In Fidelity has been turning heads on social media, and not in the best way. Specifically, everyone is pretty weirded out by the character poster featuring, as critic Charles Bramesco put it, “smooth Parnell.”
Others noticed that “Smooth Chris Parnell” works perfectly when copy and pasted into one particular Michael Jackson song.
Okay, there’s a lot to unpack here.

Entertainment Squad, the boutique distribution company founded by Shaked Berenson, has acquired the relationship comedy In Fidelity, starring Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Fallout) and Cara Buono (Stranger Things, Mad Men), as well as Dennis Haysbert and Illeana Douglas.
The company is planning a release early next year.
In Fidelity sees Parnell and Buono play a happily married New York City couple who, upon receiving life-changing news, decide to live a life of no regrets by experimenting with a “hall pass” for an open relationship. “After a tricky love triangle forms with their musician neighbor,” portrayed by Haysbert, it also soon draws in the couple’s flirtatious friend (Douglas). Plus, there are “unexpected consequences for their rebellious Gen Z daughter (Willow Shields).”
The film is written and directed by Rob Margolies, who directed the boxing drama Bobcat Moretti, starring Vivica A. Fox.

Gravitas Ventures, an Anthem Sports & Entertainment company, has acquired the U.S. rights to Connie Cocchia’s coming-of-age drama “When Time Got Louder.” The film will be released on Nov. 17 in select theaters and on VOD.
“’When Time Got Louder’ is a powerful story filled with emotion. It’s a great addition to the coming-of-age genre, and we can’t be more happy to bring it to audiences,” stated Cameron Moore, senior director of theatrical distribution, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Gravitas.
Willow Shields (“The Hunger Games” franchise) stars as Abbie, who is departing for college and leaving her parents (Elizabeth Mitchell and Lochlyn Munro) and brother (Jonathan Simao), who has autism and is non-verbal. The upcoming dramedy “In Fidelity” takes viewers through a surprising, difficult-to-answer question: Can you get a hall pass from your spouse if you’re dying?
Starring “Saturday Night Live” alum Chris Parnell and Cara Buono, “In Fidelity” tells the story of Lyle and Holly, a happily married New York couple whose world is rocked when Holly becomes terminally ill — and asks to sleep with their well-known rock star neighbor (Dennis Haysbert) before she dies young.
It’s not an easy ask, even after Lyle says yes, and you can see for yourself in the humorously bittersweet trailer, right now at the top of the page.
Alongside Parnell, Buono and Hasbert, the film also features Willow Shields (‘’The Hunger Games’’) as their risk-taking Gen-z daughter, and Illeana Douglas (“Grace of My Heart”) as Lyle and Holly’s eccentric confidante Ethel.

"This is for you to be able to do it by yourself." LevelFilm has revealed an official trailer for When Time Got Louder, a Canadian indie film that marks the feature directorial debut of LGBTQ filmmaker Connie Cocchia. This premiered at the Frameline Film Festival last year, and is screening at the Canadian Film Fest this month before it opens in select cinemas in Canada. Alas, we still don't have a US date set yet. Departing for college, Abbie leaves her parents and brother who has autism and is non-verbal. As she explores her independence and sexuality, she's torn between her new life and her love for her brother. The indie film stars Willow Shields as Abbie, Lochlyn Munro, Elizabeth Mitchell, and Jonathan Michael Simao as her brother Kayden. This reminds me of Sia's film Music, which got in trouble for reasons related to being inauthentic, hopefully this one...

Jena Malone, who portrayed Joana Mason in The Hunger Games franchise, took to Instagram to speak about allegedly being sexually assaulted while filming Mockingjay – Part 2.
The 38-year-old actress opened up about the traumatic experiences by sharing a photo of herself in a field in rural France shortly taken after wrapping up filming. Starting with a “trigger warning,” Malone explained that “This photo was taken right after I wrapped Mocking Jay Part Two, and I had to say goodbye to everyone on set. We were shooting in a beautiful estate in the countryside of France and I asked the driver to let me out in this field so I could cry and capture this moment.”

Detective Knight: Independence completes the trilogy begun in Detective Knight: Rogue and continued in Detective Knight: Redemption. Although not the last of his films to be released, Assassin is slated for release in March, these were the last ones Bruce Willis made before announcing his retirement. So in a sense, it also concludes its star’s career.
The film opens with a bank robbery shot from the Pov of the robbers making it look like a first-person shooter, be sure to get the tie-in edition of Bank Robber Simulator at your local Gamestop. The robbery comes to a bloody end with Detective Knight (Bruce Willis) shooting the last of the gang while he holds a woman hostage.
Also on the scene are paramedics Dezi and Ally.

Detective Knight: Independence is written and directed by Edward Drake starring Bruce Willis and Lochlyn Munro.
Bruce Willis is back in one of his latest successes, repeating the role that made him famous: a police officer.
This sequel is a thriller with some interesting formulas such as the divided screen (a là Brian De Palma), but the story is more traditional, with lots of hand-held camera, realistic photography and a plot that is always as expected.
About the Movie Detective Knight: Independence
We love Bruce Willis and we grew up watching his movies and laughing at his jokes. These last (we repeat) no longer include jokes and, although he is at the head of the cast, is no longer the main character, he is more of a secondary figure, a star to watch in B Series movies, action thrillers that are rather de-caffeinated like this one, have action scenes that,...

"We justice fails, in Knight we trust." Lionsgate has revealed one more trailer for the final film in this action thriller trilogy - this one is called Detective Knight: Independence, from filmmaker Edward Drake. This is the third and final film in the Detective Knight series, all featuring Willis as a Detective. I keep hoping all these bad Bruce Willis movies are done, considering his health, but nope there's always more. Bruce Willis stars as Detective James Knight in this final, tense chapter of the trilogy. Knight's last-minute assignment to the Independence Day shift turns into a race to stop an unbalanced ambulance Emt from ruining the day. The misguided vigilante, playing cop with a stolen gun and uniform, has a bank vault full of reasons to put on his own fireworks show… one that will strike dangerously close to Knight’s home. In another multiverse, Zendaya could be going for a Megot right now. You know what the last four letters stand for. The “M,” you ask? That’s for Mirrorball, of course. Long before she became the youngest Best Drama Actress Emmy winner with “Euphoria” and entered the current Best Actress Oscar race with “Malcolm & Marie,” Zendaya nearly won the 16th season of “Dancing with the Stars” with Val Chmerkovskiy, finishing second to Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough.

The Netflix drama Spinning Out features some pretty incredible figure skating in its first season, so we're wondering if any of the actors, such as Kaya Scodelario, are really skating - or if they're using pro skaters as doubles. This wouldn't be the first time that actors underwent serious training for a role, but as you might expect, it's not always Scodelario pulling off Kat's impressive moves on the ice. In fact, Kat's skating prowess is the work of no fewer than five separate people!
In a tweet from December 2018, Scodelario referenced the skating training she did have to do. "Very excited to start work on this in the new year . . . Kat's story is so beautifully complicated and near to my heart. This isn't just girl meets boy . . . I promise. Now, time to train!! #mybuttsgoingtobesobruised #watchoutxmasicerinks." The exact extent of Scodelario's training is unknown, but it seems...

Many films and television shows use choreographed routines to express a character’s emotions or push them forward to a new place in their arc, but more often than not these are dance routines on solid ground. Netflix’s “Spinning Out” puts its characters, and audience by extension, on ice.
In “Spinning Out,” Kat Baker (Kaya Scodelario) is a gifted skater who had a bad fall that halted her career and created major trepidations in trying what used to be routine moves for her. But when an opportunity arises for her to shift her track slightly and become a pair skater, she does go for it, learning to push past her trauma as she learns a new style of skating.
“Part of the metaphor of the show is, when you fall, you get back up,” executive producer Tory Tunnell tells Variety. “Kat is one-of-a-kind. She’s elegant, but she’s...

When your job entails watching several new shows a week, overlapping themes are inevitable. Still, similarities between shows are rarely as stark as those between the first seasons of Netflix’s “Spinning Out” (out Jan. 2) and USA’s “Dare Me” (which premiered Dec. 20). Both dramas focus on teen girls as restless as they are talented, a combination that serves them well in their respective competitive sports — figure skating for “Spinning Out,” cheerleading for “Dare Me” — and have them scrambling to survive in their daily lives. Both examine motherhood, and how adults can blur the lines in their relationships to the teenagers in their care to devastating effect. Both are pulpy and propulsive as they set their bleeding hearts on a silver platter for the audience to eat up. And yet,
“Spinning Out,” from Samantha Stratton, follows a family of three women, each determined, stubborn, and skilled in her own way.

Netflix released the first trailer for its upcoming figure-skating drama “Spinning Out” on Tuesday, and everybody’s mad.

In an effort to stay in competition, she teams up with bad-boy pairs skater, Justin Davis (Evan Roderick), and risks exposing a fiercely kept secret that has the potential to unravel her entire life.
And judging by the amount of angry glaring between the two in the trailer, it does not go smoothly.

“Dancing with the Stars” was all over the place in season 28 with surprise eliminations and one uncoordinated contestant wearing out his welcome, but there was no surprise bigger than the elimination of James Van Der Beek in the Semi-Finals. I think the show should consider another all-star season, but this time the show should use it to give a second chance to stars like Van Der Beek who got screwed the first time around.
Van Der Beek’s ouster — the week his wife suffered a miscarriage, no less — will go down as one of the show’s worst, but since the show’s last all-star competition in season 15 he’s far from the only talented celeb dancer who went home way too soon. For instance, actress Elizabeth Berkley was one of the three best dancers of season 17 based on the judges’ scores, but she left the show in sixth place.

Hulu is continuing its long-running partnership with AwesomenessTV. The streamer has acquired Awesomeness horror series The Unsettling, which premiered on Friday ahead of Halloween.
The Unsettling follows 16-year-old Becca, who arrives at a foster home in a remote area, whereupon her siblings are less than welcoming -- especially the 11-year-old biological son of her foster parents. When seriously strange things start to happen, Becca becomes uncertain about who or what is responsible.
The series stars Holly Taylor, Tequan Richmond, An Li Bogan, Willow Shields, Alex Lange, Noah Grismer, Marguerite Moreau, and David Rogers -- a melange of both traditional actors and digital stars. Lange, for instance, is a burgeoning actor who also boasts a thriving presence on Instagram (2.3 million followers) and YouTube, where he shares vlogs, challenges, and short films. Lange was also an early member of Jake Paul’s creator collective Team 10, though he left that venture in Dec.
