Patrick Hegarty is an award-winning writer. His dramatic screenplay, Flower of Fire, won the Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition, and his action/thriller screenplay S.T.E.A.L. was named to The Hit List as one of the best spec screenplays in Hollywood, as voted on by major development executives, including Scott Free Productions, Plan B, and Bad Robot.
Hegarty penned the game scripts for Ghostbusters, NBA 2K, Cars, Legends of Spyro, Spiderwick Chronicles, Ratatouille, and others. He is also the author of a novel entitled The Dazzle of the Light.
Prior to his work as a writer, Hegarty was a backup QB for the Denver Broncos and 1st Team Academic All-American at UTEP, where he led the team to their best record in school history under the tutelage of Andy Reid, Dirk Koetter, and others.
Hegarty earned his MA in Literature from the University of Colorado, and holds dual citizenship in the US and Ireland.
