A Reason for the Season’s compelling narrative transforms a potentially boring holiday movie into an endearing look at personal development and community spirit. The main character, Evie Lane, is a privileged heiress with a multimillionaire mother who gives her a difficult task: find and grant the Christmas wishes of the townspeople who helped her when she was a baby.
The idea is new and old: a spoiled city girl must show her worth by returning to her roots. Elizabeth, Evie’s mother, gives her a make-or-break challenge: She wants to find and grant the wishes of the people in a decades-old Polaroid picture from the night of Evie’s birth, and she has to do it before her 35th birthday on Christmas Eve. Evie has to get out of her comfort zone and into the cute town of Brookswood quickly because the clock is running.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers reveal that the tension between Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and his wife Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) will continue to get worse. However, Diane is not happy at all with the way Jack coddle Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Will Jack blame Diane for Kyle latest actions against Jabot?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Is Furious With Kyle Newman
The Young And The Restless spoilers indicate that Diane is furious with Kyle over him stealing a formula off her computer and using it at Glissade.
Of course, Kyle and Diane have been having issues ever since Jack made her his co-ceo at Jabot, a job that Kyle clearly felt that should have been his even though he recommended his mother for the job.
Kyle would often go behind Diane’s back and undermine her work to make her look bad to their clients and employees.

Shaun and his best mate Ed are in trouble. They’ve discovered two zombies in their garden, and the lumbering flesh-eaters show no signs of stopping. However, Shaun and Ed have found one way of slowing the approach: throwing records.
And so, as the two zombies grow closer, Ed and Shaun rustle through the latter’s collection. “Sign o’ the Times … Purple Rain,” Ed suggests as projectiles, only to have Shaun tell him no. That is until Ed reaches a low point in Prince’s discography, the Batman soundtrack. “Throw it,” Shaun commands, striking a blow against the living dead.
The above scene is just one instance of the humor and horror that director Edgar Wright and his co-writer Simon Pegg bring to the RomZomCom Shaun of the Dead, released twenty years ago. Shaun (Pegg) and Ed (Nick Frost) spend a lot of time discussing their pop-cultural interests, even in the most dire situations.

“Star Wars” could stand to come off its high horse a little bit. Other than the recent “Andor,” which actually did break new ground, the franchise has become stunningly obsessed with itself, regurgitating obscure lore, planting callbacks and cameos everywhere, and generally living in the past.
One of the bits of “Star Wars” arcana that especially pops up? The “Star Wars Holiday Special,” the 1978 CBS catastrophe that’s the ultimate example of exploiting franchise IP into oblivion. The definitive “so bad it’s good” fetish object, the two-hour special introduced Boba Fett as a character to the saga and continues to influence stories to this day — the prong-like rifle sometimes used by Mando on “The Mandalorian” came from the special — even as George Lucas and Lucasfilm famously suppressed it. Lucasfilm even produced its own “Lego Star Wars Holiday Special” in 2020.

Film projects fall apart all the time in Hollywood, but it's rare for a movie to get within a month or so of production and abruptly get canned.
This, however, is what happened to "Dallas Sting," which was to be an uplifting account of the first U.S. soccer team, male or female, to win an international tournament. Matthew McConaughey and Kaitlyn Dever were set to star in the film, and "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" director Kari Skogland was working from a screenplay by the "Glow" writing duo of Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. On paper, this sounded like a terrifically entertaining sports flick. So why did it get shut down six weeks prior to the start of principal photography?

"You never go full chicken, Lilly!" Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer for an eSports comedy titled 1Up, the latest from filmmaker Kyle Newman (of Fanboys and Barely Lethal previously). The film is about a gamer who quits her college sports team due to sexism from all the men, and decides to start her own team to compete in the league and beat the men. This borrows the classic 90s sports comedy movie structure where a frustrated but talented player breaks off and creates an underdog team as they fight to take down their former teammates - except that this is set in the eSports world where racism & sexism is still rampant. Paris Berelc stars as "V", for Vivian, and is joined by Ruby Rose, Hari Nef, Madison Baines, Lolita Milena, D.J. Mausner, Taylor Zakhar Perez, & Naomi Kyle. It does look like direct-to-video quality, but might still be funny enough to enjoy.

On Sunday, Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries confirmed that actress Wallis Day would be joining the cast as Kate Kane, taking over the role previously held by Ruby Rose. And now, Rose has taken to Instagram to share that she is “stoked” for Day.
“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate @wallisday yesterday,” Rose said on Instagram, in response to a photo tribute to her version of Kane. “I knew about the casting beforehand and didn’t know when it aired so I forgot to.
“I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt,” she added. “I feel great I have nothing but good vibes.”
In Season 1, Rose led the cast of the CW series, exploring Kane’s decision to become Batwoman in the absence of her vigilante cousin, Bruce Wayne (aka Batman). The recasting of her role had been long anticipated,...

Ellen Page and Paris Berelc have boarded gaming comedy “1Up,” with Kyle Newman directing in what could be the first feature film for BuzzFeed Studios.
Berelc will portray a gamer who quits her college esports team due to sexism from her male counterparts. To keep her scholarship, she’s forced to assemble an all-female team and enlists the help of a coach — portrayed by Page — who has a gaming scandal in her past.
The script is written by Julia Yorks. BuzzFeed’s Richard Alan Reid is producing along with Michael Philip and Jason Moring. Production is expected to begin in Toronto in November.
Page stars in the Netflix series “Umbrella Academy” as Vanya Hargreeves. She was nominated for an Academy Award for best actress for 2007’s comedy-drama “Juno” and has credits on “Inception,” “Tallulah,” “Whip It” and portrayed Kitty Pryde in “X-Men: The Last Stand” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past.
