Márcio began his piano studies at the age of 5, in Divinópolis, in the interior of Minas Gerais, where at the age of 14 he was already playing in dance bands and had his rock band, Grupo Esgotho (with guitarist Marcelo Santos). He moved to Belo Horizonte and studied Conducting and Composition there at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Still in Belo Horizonte, he worked with artists from the local scene such as Sirlan, Lery Faria Jr, Melão (Marcio Barroso Santarosa) and Banda Livre, in addition to continuing to work as a keyboardist in nightclubs and restaurants. Eventually, he worked as a sound technician using the equipment of his "prom ensemble" Brazil Export (Lomiranda voice, piano and organ, Davi Dâmaso, ex-AdCanto, bass and Marco Antonio Funeral, drums) in shows by artists from abroad such as such as Fafá de Belém, Alceu Valença, among others.

In 1978, Lomiranda moved to Rio de Janeiro and when he arrived, he joined the band Original Orquestra (Lomiranda - keyboards, Luis Moreno - drums, Paul de Castro - guitar and violin and Nelsinho das Laranjeiras - bass) In 1979, by appointment of fellow countryman and friend Túlio Mourão (ex Mutantes), he joined the group that accompanied Ney Matogrosso debuting in the show Feitiço and also participating in the recording of the album "Sujeito Estranho". From 1981 to 1987, he was a member of the band that accompanied Alceu Valença, having participated in the recordings of the albums "Cavalo de Pau", "Anjo Avesso", "Estação da Luz", "Mágico", "Rubi" and years later of the CD's "7 Wishes" and "Na Embolada do Tempo". With Alceu's band, he participated as an arranger and keyboardist on records by Amelinha, Gal Costa, Zé Ramalho, Carlos Moura, Geraldo Azevedo, among others.

In addition to the aforementioned Ney Matogrosso and Alceu Valença, he was also a musician in the bands of Luiz Caldas, Sérgio Dias Baptista, Rosanah Fienngo and Marina Lima.

For about thirteen years with producer Guto Graça Mello, he participated as keyboardist and/or arranger on albums by names such as: Cássia Eller, Fábio Júnior, Fat Family, Ivan Lins, Leila Pinheiro, Maria Bethânia, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil, Paula Toller, Sandra de Sá, Sandy & Junior, Zélia Duncan, among many others of the most varied styles.

In 1992 together with Paulo Rafael (guitar) and Tonia Schubert (vocals) he recorded the album "Rútila Máquina" (Polygram), an "electrorock" work. The song "Magnificat", written by him and recorded in this work, was the opening theme of the soap opera Olho no Olho, shown by TV Globo in 1993. In 2001, together with Paulo Rafael and singer Taryn Szpilman, they released the album "Eletro Fluminas ".

His first solo work was released in 2008, the album "Verdazul", (Eletro Fluminas/Som Livre).

Since 1997, he has been part of TV Globo's team of music producers, composing original soundtracks for several programs and soap operas on the network.

In 2022, in addition to the release of 3 singles from the work with guitarist Paulo Rafael ("Sede", "Assum Preto" and "Sintético"), Lomiranda also released the solo album ELETROALMA now on all digital platforms.

In 2022, he released the clip for the re-recording of the classic by the band Black Sabbath, "Changes" in duo with singer Cyz Mendes, for the soundtrack of the soap opera Um Lugar ao Sol, TV Globo, for which he composed together with Mú Carvalho all the original music. .
