Faith Isiakpere was born in Nigeria in April 1955 and from the age of 11 was brought up in South London - where he attended Addey & Stanhope Secondary School. He started as a performing artist with the Greenwich Young Peoples Theatre in London and between 1975-1978 studied Film & Television Production at West College of Art and Design where he obtained a BA. Between 1978-1991 Faith worked in the UK for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), Thames Television and Central TV as a director and producer - where he directed many dramas, documentaries and music videos and published photographic book on the UK band UB40. His most notable achievement was a series of documentaries on immigration, which culminated in the six part television series Black Britain. Between 1991 and 1993 he worked in the USA as a freelance producer for Black Entertainment Television (BET). In 1999 he started working in Nigeria as a broadcaster, where he became The Programme Director for the Minaj Group. He is a former board member of the Newtown Film & Television School, a Board Member of the Children's Broadcasting Foundation for Africa and a Chairperson of SITHENGI. In 2005, alongside the SA human rights campaigner and broadcaster/producer Firdoze Bulbulia he established the film & television production company - Moments Entertainment SA. They have been responsible for both producing and directing the feature films - Foreign Demons, Algiers Murders, Cry of Love and the drama/documentaries Soweto Blues and LOL With President Mandela. They have are co-producers of the Jahmil XT Qubeka directed feature films A Small Town Called Descent and Of Good Report. They have in post-production the new feature film Harry's Game and are working with the British screenwriter Andrew M. Smith on a new feature film of the award winning Gabby Magomola book - Robben Island to Wall Street. In 2018 Firdoze Bulbulia and Faith Isiakpere launched in Johannesburg SA - The Mandela Children's Film Festival, which it is intended, will showcase international children's film and encourage film production "that is both for and with young people".
