Michael Sorensen was born in Santa Monica, California; but soon after
his family moved to Dallas, Texas where he lived from ages 3 to 8.
Eventually after his brother and sister were born, the family moved
back to California. This time to Sacramento. Michael attended high
school in Sacramento, then moved to Davis, CA to go to college at UC
Davis. He worked his way through college and at one time Mike held down
4 jobs while attending school. He worked construction, interned at a
local TV station, etc. While in college he also studied Italian and
lived in Perugia Italy for a semester and after traveled all over
Europe. Michael graduated from UC Davis, Magna Cum Laude in economics
and philosophy. Upon graduating, he turned down lucrative offers in
business in favor of a position that would allow him to pursue his
career in film. Mike has acted in over 3 dozen independent film
projects, a dozen media projects, theater, and TV.
First starring role was in 2002 American Grace, many more followed. Writing projects include a high concept screen play, as well as several low budget thrillers. In 2008 Mike wrote, produced, directed, starred in the low budget, zombie feature "Dead End."
After nearly 10 years working in the dynamic Northern California film industry, in the fall of 2009, Mike moved to L.A. to pursue a full time film career. By 2015 he had produced a number of shows for Travel Channel, Discovery ID, NatGeo and more. He is happily married to his wife, Luisa Sorensen-Paz and they have one daughter with more on the way.
