Bode Asiyanbi Bode Asiyanbi was educated at Obafemi Awolowo University, and Lancaster University where he holds a master's degree in creative writing. Winner of the 2018 BBC/British Council Georgi Markov Prize, BBC African Performance Playwriting Prize (2005 and 2011) and the British Council LTF Playwriting Prize (2016 and 2017), Bode Asiyanbi has worked with the BBC World Service Trust/BBC Media Action as a writer and editor on its groundbreaking radio and television drama series, Story Story and Wetin Dey. His short stories have appeared in Munyori Literary Journal, Kalahari Review, Lawino, Wasafiri and Per Contra; a journal of arts and literature. His stage play 'Shattered' was performed at the 2013 British Council Lagos Theatre Festival and 'The Wait' and 'One Chance!' won the British Council LTF 2016 and 2017 Playwriting Prize. Hispoems also featured in the anthology of contemporary African poetry, ' A Thousand Voices Rising'. He wrote Chief Daddy, Nigeria's third highest grossing film and was Head Writer on Brethren, the critically acclaimed television crime series on Africa Magic. A 2018 Camargo Foundation Fellow and Playwright-In-Residence, Bode Asiyanbi works as a story consultant, editor and writer across the varied platforms of theatre, television, film, radio and new media.
