Hallmark+ fans will soon be heading back to 7 Cherry Lane for the start of three sequels with a star-studded cast.

Hallmark+ has announced the first of three Cherry Lane sequels, Season’s Greetings from Cherry Lane. Starring Jonathan Bennett, Corey Cott, Annabelle Bourke, Sarah Dugdale, Shannon Kook and Vincent Rodriguez III, the movie takes fans back in time to 1951, 2003, and 2024.

Smallville alumni Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum would love to get the show’s animated sequel series off the ground… if only a Warner Bros. executive would call them back.

More than three years after Welling first told TVLine that he and Rosenbaum were working on an animated Smallville follow-up, the actor has now shared with ScreenRant that the project is in limbo while he and Rosenbaum await a go-ahead from Warner Bros. Television, which co-produced the original series.

This week, Murder in a Small Town will host a bit of a Smallville reunion as Erica Durance joins as a guest star. Yep, Kristin Kreuk‘s old costar from the superhero series — the Lois Lane to her Lana Lang — is joining forces with her again for Tuesday’s (October 15) episode, “Prized Possessions.” In the episode, Durance guest stars as Emma, a childhood friend of Cassandra’s who reunites with her for her arts center fundraiser. Unfortunately, their get-together takes a dark and twisted turn when she returns home to find something horrific. In TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek at the episode (embedded above), Cassandra takes Emma home. After Emma wishes her all the best of luck with her new love Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland), Cassandra agrees to wait for her in the car ’til Emma gets inside. Fox’s Murder in a Small Town has just gotten underway, but it’s taking an aspect few could expect in some big guest stars! See which Smallville co-star is coming on the next episode!

Based on the novels by L.R. Wright, Murder in a Small Town focuses on Karl Alberg (Rossif Sutherland), a former big-city cop who relocates to the small town of Gibsons, British Columbia. He figures it’ll be a nice and quiet job as the local police chief only to start uncovering crimes in the town, including murder.

Alberg does get help from his fellow cops and a relationship with local librarian Cassandra Mitchell (Kristen Kreuk), who he starts dating. While it appeared the show was just a standard mystery, it’s getting attention thanks to some surprisingly high-profile guest stars.

The 90-minute premiere had Oscar nominee James Cromwell as an elderly resident who’s suspected of a dark murder.

Exchange those olive branches, #Clana and #Clois fans, because Erica Durance is about to drop by Smallville co-star Kristin Kreuk’s new drama series.

Fox has released photos from the next episode of the freshman drama Murder in a Small Town (airing Tuesday, Oct. 15 at 8/7c), in which Durance plays Emma O’Brea, a childhood friend of Kreuk’s librarian Cassandra Lee.

Whether executives at Warner Bros. and DC Studios have the same level of enthusiasm is hard to say, though there's been no real movement on the project since we first learned of their plans a few years ago.

Smallville star Erica Durance recently offered her take on David Corenswet's Superman costume in the upcoming Dcu movie.

The actress famously played Lois Lane during the entire run of the hit CW series, and up to this day, fans still look up to her and Tom Welling's Clark Kent as some of the best on-screen depictions of the DC couple.

Next year, fans will be able to witness a brand new take on the Man of Steel with James Gunn's Superman which would feature the debut of Corenswet as the Dcu's version of the hero.

The Arrowverse ended when The Flash concluded last year, though shows like Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman were cancelled without ever receiving proper endings.

On the plus side, Arrow had a fitting series finale (as did Supergirl) while Superman & Lois' characters were moved to another universe.

It all started with Green Arrow, though, and in an interview with Showrunner Whisperer, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed exactly how important the Emerald Archer's TV series was to The CW.

"Shortly after the pilot got ordered to series, Peter Roth [president of Warner Bros. TV] took us out to lunch and basically laid out for us, in incredible detail, the reality that if Arrow wasn’t a hit, there would be no more CW," he explained. "So it was the pressure of having a show and keeping the show on the air – that’s one thing – but now we also have the pressure of keeping the whole network on the air.

The CW used to be the ideal network for soapy teen dramas, sci-fi vampires and werewolf series, and DC superhero shows.

Now, it's a disappointing shell of those days.

The Vampire Diaries premiered back in 2009 and led to two additional spinoffs, while DC's Arrow began in 2012 and also began a massive franchise.

The CW used to include soapy dramas or sci-fi series, such as Supernatural, which launched Jared Padalecki's career.

The CW has only four original series left, and Superman & Lois will air its final season in the fall.

All American and All American: Homecoming are all on the bubble, while Walker was canceled. It seems like The CW has changed its' identity, and it's not favorable.

Michael Rosenbaum, who played Lex Luthor in Smallville, is opening up about the idea he has for a sequel series in an animated form.

In a new interview, Rosenbaum revealed he and Tom Welling were developing an animated series with the original cast and creators of the show that originated in 2001 on the now-defunct WB network.

“All I could share is that it’s a great idea. We have Al [Gough] and Miles [Millar], the creators of Smallville, backing us up,” Rosenbaum said in an interview with Screen Rant. “When it’s the right time, we’d like to go and do this: pitch to Warner Bros. It has to be the right time, and right now is not the right time.”

Aside from director James Gunn previously delivering the best movies that Marvel Studios has had to offer, Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane. Both of the Hallmark networks have fired up the holiday. Countdown to Christmas began in earnest on Hallmark Channel last week, and Ms. Christmas Comes to Town gets the party started at Hmm.

One thing both networks have in common other than movies and Christmas is a steady stream of prolific actress Barbara Niven.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan is on the shortlist to play Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy, sources told The Hollywood Reporter.

According to sources, Brosnahan delivered an “outstanding” audition for the spunky Daily Planet reporter but may be in the older range for what Gunn is hoping to achieve with his vision for the Man of Steel — one that focuses on Metropolis heroics with 20-something characters.

Nonetheless, the Emmy-winning actress would love the opportunity to play the iconic comic book character that has been portrayed by actresses like Amy Adams, Erica Durance, Kate Bosworth, Elizabeth Tulloch and Margot Kidder, among others.

The show was created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who also came up with the wildly popular Netflix series "Wednesday."
