Tickets for Kraven the Hunter officially go on sale tomorrow, and might just be accompanied by a final trailer for the movie. For now, Sony Pictures has released two TV spots featuring some action-packed new footage.

The teasers include more of Aaron Taylor-Johnson's vengeful beast-man doling out violent justice, and we also get a couple of shots of Kraven scaling a wall in much the same fashion as a certain Friendly Neighbourhood Webhead.

We're not sure if this is a deliberate nod to Spider-Man, but either way, it could end up being the only reference to the wall-crawling hero in the movie. A recent rumor claimed that Spidey is not mentioned in the film, and there will be no post-credits scenes.

Marvel Animation's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is coming to Disney+ next January, and before it does, we'll be able to swing into some new Spidey stories in a special prequel comic book series written by Marvel veteran Christos Gage and drawn by rising star artist Eric Gapstur.

Set during the teenager's earliest days as Spider-Man, the five-issue limited series introduces a young Peter Parker, his supporting cast, and some of the hero's legendary villains.

The animated series will take place in its reality and we now see that this rookie web-slinger will face off with The Enforcers, a trio first introduced by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in the pages of 1963's Amazing Spider-Man #10. They haven't changed much in terms of appearance and this should be a fun clash. Whether they appear in the show as well remains to be seen.

Sony’s Spider-Man Universe hasn’t been faring too well since teaming up with the MCU. Don’t get me wrong, Spider-Man’s standalone movies within the MCU have been an absolute triumph, swinging from one spectacular hit to the next. 2025 will be a huge year for Marvel's First Family as the team makes its long-awaited MCU debut in next July's The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Now, Marvel Comics has announced a new initiative which will see the heroes take over Marvel history in a whopping 24 "Homage" variant covers.

Illustrated by some of today's leading artists, these covers place the Fantastic Four, their beloved supporting cast, and their most legendary villains in recreations of iconic Marvel comic covers.

Spider-Man 4 may just be the most anticipated movie on the release schedule. It's definitely one of the most anticipated, and it certainly is at home in that group (among other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies like the upcoming Avengers films). There is no doubt that it will be one of the biggest movies of 2026, and MCU fans are ready to see what it has in store for them.

When we last caught up with Tom Holland's webslinger, he made the selfless choice to allow all of his loved ones to forget that he exists in order to save the world from multiverse threats that looked to destroy it simply because they knew that Peter Parker was Spider-Man. He's now fighting to protect those in need in the streets of New York City as something of a lone warrior. But still, he's their Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

Following the events of Blood Hunt, Doctor Doom is Sorcerer Supreme and one of his first mandates was tasking Spider-Man to be the new champion against the eight scions of Cyttorak in "8 Deaths of Spider-Man."

Spearheaded by writer Joe Kelly and artist Ed McGuinness, this exciting and unusual Spidey saga is currently unfolding in the pages of Amazing Spider-Man, starting with last week's Amazing Spider-Man #61. Today, we have a look ahead to February's instalments: Amazing Spider-Man #67-68 and a special bonus tie-in issue, Amazing Spider-Man #68.Deaths.

Marvel Comics hasn't disclosed why, but Justina Ireland and artist Andrea Broccardo will be taking over creative duties for these issues, with Christos Gage and artist Mark Buckingham in charge of that tie-in.

Whether Kelly and McGuinness will be back after that is hard to say, particularly as the publisher has yet to announce Amazing Spider-Man's permanent creative team following Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr.'s recent departure.

When Tom Holland first slid into the iconic Spider-Man suit, he expected to feel like a superhero. But instead, he was disappointed. Why? His suit wasn’t ready, so he had to borrow his stunt doubles. And guess what? It didn’t fit. At all. “It wasn’t quite as heroic as I would have hoped,” Tom said. “He was much bigger than I was. So when I wore the first Spider-Man costume, it was kind of baggy and saggy around the face and stuff.” It was not precisely the Spidey debut he had in mind.

In recent months, we've been bombarded by conflicting reports about Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' plans for Spider-Man 4. Despite initial reports about a street-level story featuring Daredevil and Mayor Wilson Fisk, Venom: The Last Dance changed the narrative.

After the final trailer introduced Knull, God of the Symbiotes, it was soon reported that the plan was for Spidey and Venom to team up for a battle with the King in Black.

So, Tom Holland broke down after the Spider-Man: No Way Home premiere, and it wasn’t just because of the hype. The actor was spotted tearing up during a fan interaction right after the LA premiere, and it’s way more profound than just a regular emotional moment.

It was December 13, and after strutting down the red carpet with Zendaya and the whole No Way Home crew, Tom was heading to his car. But as he passed the fans waiting outside, he hit pause. Marvel Studios did what many thought was impossible in 2012 by assembling Earth's Mightiest Heroes in The Avengers. A sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, followed three years later before the stakes increased exponentially in Infinity War and Endgame. 

With the end of the Multiverse Saga rapidly approaching, this era of storytelling will be capped off with Doomsday and Secret Wars. Beyond that, the plan is reportedly for the MCU to be softly rebooted, likely leading to recastings and the X-Men and Fantastic Four calling the Sacred Timeline home.

But what of The Avengers? We're sure they'll still have an important role to play and, in this feature, we're exploring the way the franchise can evolve in a new MCU. From new locations to the type of stories being told and the team's place in this shared world moving forward, we have a lot of thoughts on where they go from here.

2025's Free Comic Book Day is on May 3 and Marvel Comics has announced stories which will serve as entry points for all-new eras of Fantastic Four and Amazing Spider-Man, a prelude to an upcoming X-Men saga, and a glimpse at the very first event set in the new Ultimate Universe.

We’re shaken when Tom Holland spilled some juicy behind-the-scenes Marvel tea. It turns out that one of his pitches for Spider-Man 4 got the big ol’ Marvel veto. Why? Because Kevin Feige and the gang were already using the idea in Captain America: Brave New World. Yep, even Spider-Man has to wait his turn in the MCU sandbox.

Holland opened up on the Rich Roll Podcast, saying, “I’ll come up with an idea, and they’ll say no, you can’t do that because we’re doing that in the new Captain America movie.” But no hard feelings here—he thinks it’s “cool” how Marvel has everything mapped out like a superhero Gps.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is no stranger to cameos. Right back to the very first Iron Man movie in 2008 (when Nick Fury appeared to Tony Stark in a post-credits scene) has the franchise mastered the art of the cameo, with some of the world's biggest superstars - and the world's most iconic superheroes - making important appearances throughout the 34 movies thus far.

From the set-up of a future installment to the debut that audiences were waiting for, Marvel Studios knows how to do a cameo. They have been particularly fun in the franchise's ongoing Multiverse Saga, which has featured surprise appearances from legendary actors who previously appeared in various movies or TV shows based on Marvel Comics characters.

Look no further than Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which saw Patrick Stewart return as Professor Charles Xavier, John Krasinski finally play Mr. Fantastic Reed Richards, and Hayley Atwell bring Captain Carter to live-action.

Despite rumblings that Spider-Man 4's shooting start date could be delayed, the movie now has a working title.

The Cosmic Circus has learned that the Marvel Studios/Sony Pictures co-production is being shot under the name "Blue Oasis" with Blaze Film, Inc. being used as its production company. What, if any, significance does this working title have?

Well, Spider-Man: No Way Home was dubbed "Serenity Now," so we wouldn't put too much stock in any theories you see floating around.

However, the site has correctly pointed out that the Blue Oasis colour bears a striking resemblance to the imagery used in Jeph Loeb and Tim Sale's critically acclaimed Spider-Man: Blue comic book series. While Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have finally confirmed plans for Spider-Man 4 (with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm), everyone wants to know what's next for the wall-crawler.

There continue to be conflicting reports about plans for the movie and The Cosmic Circus has just shared some possible new intel. According to the site's Alex Perez, the plan is still for the alien costume to play a role in the Multiverse Saga.

There have been rumours about a World War Hulk (or World War Hulks) movie for at least the past couple of years. Recently, we heard that the plan now is for Mark Ruffalo's Smart Hulk to evolve into the villainous Maestro, potentially giving that movie its big bad.

Throw in the fact we've recently met She-Hulk and The Leader's role in President Ross becoming Red Hulk in next year's Captain America: Brave New World - oh, and Abomination's trip to Kamar Taj - and there are enough players on the board to make this event a reality.

It was a pretty darn quiet weekend at the box office as most studios seemingly wanted to either A) avoid competing with the election or B) wait for greener postures offered by the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday window. Either way, it created a situation where Sony's "Venom: The Last Dance" was easily able to top the charts again with a relatively solid $26.1 million estimated second weekend haul. That's good for the studio in the short run. In the long run? It presents Sony with a quandary that they're probably going to need to address sooner rather than later.

However, the author’s love for comics began in 2002 with the release of the first Spider-Man movie in the Sam Raimi trilogy. Tom Holland found out he was Spider-Man in the most Tom Holland way possible—scrolling through Instagram in bed. That’s right, he didn’t get a dramatic phone call or even a heads-up email. Nope. One lazy scroll, and there it was—Marvel casually announcing him as the next Peter Parker. His reaction? “I went ballistic, like absolutely nuts.” Who wouldn’t?

It sounds wild, but even Holland wasn’t sure it was real initially. After all, Sony had been hacked around that time, and the internet isn’t exactly known for its reliability. But Marvel wasn’t messing around. They announced his fate to the world before telling him directly. “I have to be honest, Kevin,” Holland told Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige when he finally called with the news.

Shortly after we learned that Marvel Studios planned to revisit the Man Without Fear for a new Daredevil Disney+ series, a pretty far-fetched rumor that Tom Holland's Spider-Man was set to make an appearance did the rounds online.

Comic book movies are facing an interesting moment. Before the pandemic hit in 2020, nothing seemed to guarantee a box office hit more than putting a Marvel logo in front of a movie. Even DC had $1 billion hits with "Aqauaman" and "Joker" in and amongst the chaos of trying to figure out the DC Extended Universe. Sony Pictures also found a potential goldmine within the larger "Spider-Man" franchise with the release of 2018's "Venom." That movie made a shocking $856 million worldwide and paved the way for further spin-offs centered on Spidey side characters. The whole experiment was kind of a disaster, but among the rubble of that disaster is a potential lesson for those in charge of the future of superhero cinema.

James Gunn is now the co-head of DC Studios alongside producer Peter Safran. Gunn is best known as the director of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, as well as 2021's "The Suicide Squad.

Corporate interests will always get in the way of artists trying to tell a good story, and that’s partly why I think comic-books are so damn magical. Even in a medium that’s mostly controlled by a handful of giant companies with strict rules about their intellectual property, you can still see miraculous bursts of creativity even in the most unabashedly cynical products.

For example, there’s the fan-favorite Venom. Think of how many people were involved in the process of turning an alternate costume for Spider-Man (the result of a contest meant to make the character appeal to a broader audience) into a monstrous supervillain, only to then re-imagine the character as a reformed hero once the marketing folks realized that he was nearly as popular as Spidey himself. No single person planned for it to turn out this way, but each artist tried to nudge the idea in a fun direction,...

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 wasn't a box office flop in 2014, but with a budget that spun wildly out of control and negative reviews, it didn't perform anywhere near as well as Sony Pictures hoped.

As a result, two sequels and Sinister Six were scrapped and Sony decided to team up with Marvel Studios to bring a new version of the wall-crawler into the MCU with 2016's Captain America: Civil War.

Three hit movies followed, but the problem is Sony has to share at least some of the profits with Disney. And, as producer Avi Arad continues to try and exert his control over Sony's Marvel characters, "Sony's Spider-Man Universe" was created...minus Spidey.

With the release of Venom: The Last Dance, we're now five movies into that franchise and the threequel has now cemented an unfortunate Rotten Tomatoes record for these movies.
