Michael Harrington was born in New York and raised in California. He was the middle child of Marjorie Ann Gortner, and veteran actor Pat Harrington, Jr. His father portrayed the iconic Dwayne Schneider on the long-running TV series, One Day At A Time. At an early age, Michael was greatly influenced by his father's rare collection of jazz albums, and had a strong proclivity for the late, great, Oscar Peterson. From his childhood friends, he would learn not only about the birds and the bees, but more importantly, about the Byrds and the Beatles. Harrington's pop sensibilities reflected an equal measure of both American and Anglo influences. Michael was an All-American tennis player, and team captain at UCLA, with a World Amateur ranking amongst the top 20, and an ATP ranking of 287, as a member of the US Junior Davis Cup Team. In addition, Harrington played Team Tennis for the Los Angeles Strings for a period of three years. He would later enjoy a long and rewarding career as both an actor and voiceover artist. But it is his musical endeavors that have always been the most rewarding for him - that desire to connect with a live audience, his greatest ambition.
