Steven Fischer(I)
- Producer
- Director
- Writer
Steven Fischer's two strongest passions in life are cartoons and live
action filmmaking. His Steve & Bluey cartoons have been amusing
audiences since 1989 in books such as There's a Blue Dog Under My Bed;
on TV with Steve & Bluey: In a Minute (TCI-TV, 1996-1999); and in radio
comedies for the Holiday Broadcasting Company. "The Wonderful, Happy,
Cartoony World of Steve & Bluey" is the latest Steve & Bluey book.
At the age of 24, Fischer was accepted into the prestigious Directors Guild of America (member from 1996-2001). He has produced for companies and organizations such as TCI Communications, AmeriCorps, The Shriver Center, UMBC, and the Polish National Alliance, works that are as diverse in subject matter as they are in emotion -- from the silly, animated Wally The Green Monster cartoons (JCS New England Television Network) to the 2001 Emmy-nominated Silence of Falling Leaves, which Baltimore Magazine called "haunting and surreal". He developed and teaches Introduction to Cartoon Storytelling at the college level, and is currently in production on "Freedom Dance," a documentary.
Emmy nominated for his 2000 PSA "Silence of Falling Leaves" which honored Polish POWs murdered in World War II. Animation & live-action credits for: Affect Films, Los Angeles; Dupont; Mort Kasman Prods., NYC; AmeriCorps; UMBC. Awards: Telly Award, Addy Nomination, New York Festivals Cinema & Advertising Finalist, International Television Association Festival Awards (1995, 1997).
