Game shows are a light hearted staple of our TV schedules. We can rely on them to be entertaining without demanding too much in return (apart from Only Connect). They are the TV equivalent of a warm bath or a nice pair of slippers. And what's more, the whole family can enjoy them. 92 year old grandma visiting? Best leave Game Of Thrones and opt for some Bullseye instead. Kids up late? Stick on some Family Fortunes...

Emma Willis and Rylan Clark have revealed their favourite Celebrity Big Brother moments from previous series.
In the lead-up to this summer's series, which will see UK housemates pitted against American counterparts, the presenters were candid about their personal highlights from the most recent celebrity run.
Who could be going into the Celebrity Big Brother house? All the rumours
"I think the stand-out moment has got to be [Perez] Hilton versus [Katie] Hopkins," said Emma. "It was hugely entertaining and controversial but, at the end, I just needed it to be over!"
"My stand-out moment was when Perez was in his secret room watching the house," Rylan added. "He was just standing there in his pants and a vest, eating a banana and just chucking it at the wall."
Emma suggested that helping 2014 summer series winner Gary Busey up the stairs on launch night was her favourite overall moment.

Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee in the hot tub with Gary Busey; Helen Flanagan weeping relentlessly in the Diary Room; and David McIntosh parading around in Those short shorts.... the possibilities for this series of Celebrity Big Brother are endless.
So, as we eagerly await for the mystery(ish) celebrity guests to enter the famous house in Elstree, we've decided to reminisce with our favourite ever star contestants below:
1. Jackie Stallone
"Yeah, Jackie," were the only two words uttered from the side of Jackie's heavily siliconed mouth as she entered the house, draped in fur and dripping in jewels. Her entrance soon became one of the most memorable moments from the entire series.
It was part-Jackie's presence, part-Jackie's face that really shocked Brigitte Nielsen back on the show in 2005 when her former mother-in-law entered the house on day five.
Fellow housemates had to refer to Jackie as the Queen Mother,...

If there's ever a type of TV show to make an executive rub his pudgy hands together in evil laughing glee, then it's the dating programme. Attempting to successfully matchmake on TV is like trying to teach a hamster to juggle. That's where the 'fun' lies, I guess – seeing mismatched couples navigate their way through glacial silences, ill-advised attempts at flirting and the usual nonsense about how the other half isn't attractive/tall/loud enough (delete as applicable). From the staged replies and convenient post-date antagonism of Blind Date through to the three course culinary disasters of Dinner Date through to the cackling fake tan and hair extension mob of Take Me Out, dating shows just will not take no for an answer.
The main backdrop for Lonely Hearts inevitably turns out to be a flashy, gaudy tin can of a nightclub called D'Oblique. Here, furtive looks are exchanged, sorrows...

As we brace ourselves for the Celebrity Big Brother final - we're just starting to warm to Jim and we're already missing Lee saying "I'm no player" on repeat - we bring you some of our favourite quotes from arguably the best series so far.
1. We enjoyed Dappy's unnecessary Gcse rant, during which his grades seemed to go up each time he attempted to recite his results. "I got a B in Music, an A in English... I got an A in music... an A* in English..."
The real piece de resistance was when Dappy declared that he'd definitely beat Luisa in an Iq test. Or come a bit below.
Or an awful lot?
2. When Luisa was handcuffed to Evander and the pair were suffering many an awkward silence, she eventually turned and asked the former heavyweight boxer: "Do you not say a lot or do you just not like me?...

Lionel Blair's friendship with Dappy was his favourite thing about 'Celebrity Big Brother'. The 82-year-old entertainer - who was evicted from the famous house on Friday (17.01.14) - knows he wouldn't have encountered anyone quite like the N-Dubz star in the real world and he thinks his new pal is ''wonderful''. He said: ''The wonderful thing was I met Dappy ... now when would I meet a Dappy? He calls me 'Lord Lionel Blair' and and I call him 'The Duke of St Albans'!'' Lionel bonded with many of his young housemates and is looking forward to a night out with 'The Only...

Lionel Blair has become the third housemate to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother.
The 82-year-old follows Jasmine Waltz and Evander Holyfield in being voted out by the public.
On exiting the house, the veteran entertainer performed a magic trick for the waiting crowd, flourishing a handkerchief and producing a cane out of thin air.
When asked by Emma Willis if he was sad to be leaving the house, Lionel replied: "A bit sad, but I've missed my family so much I can't tell you."
"It's exactly as I expected," he said of the experience, "I loved it so much, but what I found most difficult was going into the Diary Room and talking about my friends and who to evict.
"That was terrible."
When asked about his antics in the 18 Certificate task, Lionel admitted that he had no problem taking part.

Lionel Blair has no regrets over his x-rated behaviour on 'Celebrity Big Brother' The 82-year-old veteran dancer was kicked off the reality show on Friday (17.01.14) but he said he hopes his risque attitude encourages the elderly to follow his example. Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, he explained: ''It's about time people realised pensioners can be rude too. And we swear. ''People my age should just enjoy themselves. Getting older happens to everybody but you don't have to act older.'' Lionel's appearance in the house resulted in some x-rated and foul-mouthed moment, including one racy challenge which saw him mimicking sex acts and...

We know it was Luisa Zissman and Lionel Blair who were sent to the Most Annoying Room in the World on Celebrity Big Brother last night (January 14), but are Lee Ryan and Jasmine Waltz really the most irritating housemates?
On last night's show, the celebrity contestants were treated to the loved-up pair's astonishing dry humping display in the middle of the sitting room floor.
This had been followed by some serious slurping under the covers from the crack of dawn and onwards.
Let's take a look at more photographic evidence which could indicate that Lee and Jasmine are the most irritating housemates on Celebrity Big Brother so far (warning: not for the faint-hearted or the weak-stomached):
Kisses for breakfast (and enough to make everyone else lose theirs)
The sound effects of their snogging must have been enough to set off Luisa Zissman's weak gag reflex, and ours.

Celebrity Big Brother housemates Luisa Zissman and Lionel Blair have had an explosive argument.
The row, in which Lionel called Luisa a "bitch", erupted after he discovered that she had broken a house rule by using mascara.
The pair then started fighting over whether Lionel had told the Apprentice star to go and get some chocolates that were later eaten.
"You told me to get the chocolates," she said. "I just went to get the champagne. So don't act all innocent and bitch about it."
He retorted: "You are being loudmouthed and think you can do what you like. But you can't."
The argument then escalated, with Dappy attempting to intervene and Luisa shouting: "Everyone will see it back. You said to me, 'Get the chocolates, get the chocolates'."
Lionel then repeatedly said: "Am I your boss? Am I your boss now?" before adding: "You are just a selfish bitch!

Celebrity Big Brother housemates Lionel Blair and Luisa Zissman were driven slowly mad last night after being sent to the Most Annoying Room in the World.
For this week's Democracy shopping task, the celebrities are being asked to vote anonymously on various dilemmas - unaware that Jim Davidson is the only one whose vote counts.
Last night, Lionel and Luisa were chosen as the most annoying housemates and were told that they would have to spend the night in the Most Annoying Room in the World to get a taste of their own medicine.

The pair also enjoyed the discovery that their pillows made squeaky noises and began dissolving into slightly hysterical giggles.

Love triangles, hot tub motor-boating and Lee Ryan blubbing - we thought we'd seen it all on this year's Celebrity Big Brother.
That was until we witnessed Lionel Blair dressed in latex while shouting "suck my d**k" during a task on last night's show (January 12).
The housemates selected for the 18 Certificate task - which included Luisa Zissman, Jasmine Waltz, Sam Faiers and Ollie Locke - were sent to a room where they had to provide content appropriate for the adult certificate.
They were supplied with alcohol, a bed, S&M gear and a dancing pole, which they happily took full advantage of.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Luisa Zissman hit out at Jim Davidson after the face to face nominations last night.
Jim chose to put Luisa up for eviction during the process but the Apprentice star later told some of the other celebrities that she was unhappy about his choice of words as he did so.
"I've been thinking about getting the tinfoil and making a little Oscar out of it for Jim, for his speech about me on the sofa," she said. "Fantastic. I think it deserves an Oscar."
Luisa received instant support from fellow housemate Linda Nolan, who said: "We were just saying how completely out of order it was. Well, I put my arm around you immediately, because I thought, 'You absolute child'."
Luisa explained that she took exception to Jim complaining that she talks about herself all the time, pointing out that every housemate discusses their lives outside.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate Jim Davidson has admitted that he was annoyed that Lionel Blair chose to nominate him.
Speaking about the fall-out from last night's face-to-face nominations with Liz Jones and Casey Batchelor, Jim admitted that only one of the nominations "pissed me off".
"Just one, and that was Lionel," he said. "And I knew. I could have picked that Lionel nominated me, the moment he walked down those stairs.
"I've known him - as he says - 38 years, and as he says himself, he made me a star. You'd better ask him about that. My recollection is slightly different to his."
As Liz suggested that Lionel nominated Jim because he knew he wouldn't get upset about it, Jim agreed it was a possibility and went on to praise his housemate - with some backhanded compliments slipped in.
"Lionel and I are mates," he said. "We get on alright.

Not since Denise Welch pulled down a Playboy bunny's pair of pyjama bottoms have we seen such outrageous behaviour from a Celebrity Big Brother contestant - until Jasmine Waltz entered the house.

And most of that took place on the first night.

Well, you certainly couldn't have comfortably watched last night's edition of Celebrity Big Brother with your mother. The stars might only have been locked up in the Borehamwood bungalow for a matter of days, but already things are getting pretty heated in there - and not just because of a failure with the air con.
We barely knew where to look. The bathtub game of truth or dare was truly bizarre, with Dappy acting like a leering teenage boy sent to dream world, where suddenly he can direct two women in exactly how he wants them to kiss. We really, really, really could have done without seeing him repeatedly rearrange his swimming trunks.
But it wasn't only Luisa and Jasmine locking lips that we were privy to; from Dappy's duck tonguing to nipple-sucking to a truly hideous take on motorboating, never has a bathtub needed quite such a good scrub down.

Two more Celebrity Big Brother housemates have been granted immunity from the public vote following the most recent task.
The Tangled challenge was the final chance for the stars to free themselves from their handcuffs and receive immunity from eviction.
Each pair had to pass their key along a knotted rope to unlock their rope and then unlock their handcuffs.
Ollie Locke and Lionel Blair were the first to finish and therefore won immunity.
They managed to pass the key over the ropes and unlock their handcuffs in 2.53 minutes.
They join Jim Davidson and Linda Nolan, who won yesterday's (January 4) challenge, and Sam Faiers and and Jasmine Waltz, who came second.
Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor were second in the Tangled task, followed by Evander Holyfield and Luisa Zissman.
The two pairs will now face the public vote along with Dappy and Liz Jones.

Celebrity Big Brother launched to more than 3 million viewers on Channel 5 last night (January 3).
Housemates include Jim Davidson, Lee Ryan, Luisa Zissman, Casey Batchelor and Evander Holyfield. Dappy and Liz Jones will face the public vote on Wednesday.

Ricky Gervais has joked about the fortune-telling of his show Extras after Lionel Blair entered the Celebrity Big Brother house on Friday (January 3).
The 2007 Christmas special of Gervais's BBC sitcom saw his character Andy join the reality show along with Blair, who is now a real-life Big Brother contestant.
Extras also spoofed a story during its first series where Kate Winslet hopes to win an Academy Award for a movie centred on the Holocaust. In reality, Winslet later won the Oscar for 2008 Holocaust film The Reader.
Gervais joked on Twitter yesterday: "Winslet wins awards for holocaust movie....Lionel Blair goes into CBB...next year Ross Kemp will knock out a horse. #Extradamus"
Lionel Blair is joined in the Celebrity Big Brother house by contestants including Towie's Sam Faiers, N-Dubz rapper Dappy and boxer Evander Holyfield.

Dappy and Liz Jones face eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house after tonight's launch show.
The duo were put in jeopardy by an unwitting Jim Davidson and Linda Nolan as part of the handcuff twist.
Davidson and Nolan, who entered the house first, were given the option of uncuffing one pair of housemates after meeting everyone.
They eventually chose to grant freedom to Dappy and Jones because they seemed "stressed", but were surprised to find out that it meant that the duo now face the first eviction on Wednesday.
Two more pairs of housemates will also join them in facing eviction from Monday.
The other celebrity duos who entered the house tonight are Sam Faiers and Jasmine Waltz, Lee Ryan and Casey Batchelor, Ollie Locke and Lionel Blair, and Luisa Zissman and Evander Holyfield.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tomorrow (January 4) at 10pm on Channel 5.
