Peter Bathurst

He is no relation to the younger British actor Robert Bathurst.
He worked in Australia during the 1940's, appearing on stage in Sydney and doing voice-over commentary work for wartime documentaries.
According to Info-Text of 'The Claws of Axos' he retired from acting to run a Chelsea coffee bar.
