- Freddy Sunder was born on June 4, 1931 in Antwerp, Belgium. He was an actor and composer, known for Transport (1983), Prelude tot de dageraad (1959) and Leer om leer (1983). He died on August 5, 2016 in Antwerpen, Flanders, Belgium.
- Sunder was conductor of the BRT Orchestra from 1981 to 1990. On that, he is reported to have once said, "Twenty percent of musicians think they can do better than the conductor. And eighty percent are sure of it.".
- In Belgium he was often session guitarist e.g. on "Eenzaam zonder jou" by Will Tura, "Sans toi mamie" by Adamo, "Kili watch" by The Cousins or "I'm alone" by The Picknicks.
- He played with several big names, including Peggy Lee, Sammy Davis Jr., Natalie Cole, Shirley Bassey and Toots Thielemans.
- In those 1950s, he also recorded - as a singer - numerous Dutch translations of international hits (Mustapha, Too much Tequila, Tintarella Di Luna).
- In 1953 he released his first albums (under the name Freddy Sunder), which were then promoted as if he were an American artist. He scored hits with "Kaw Liga", "Rio Rita" and "Calling Car Boogie", but when it came out that he was actually from Antwerp, his success was over.
