Jason Ruscio

Jason's journey has been exceptional! From a small town to NYU film school, where he graduated with the 'Excellence in Filmmaking Award'. His thesis film, "eclipse", premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and won 'Top Prize' at the Student Academy Awards. In 2016, the Academy of Motion Pictures digitally restored the original 16mm negative of "eclipse" and 20 years after its festival debut, a new DCP of the film showed at numerous festivals, including the Long Beach Film Festival, the Phoenix Film Festival and the HollyShorts Film Festival. Since "eclipse", Jason has directed two feature films, which won many awards and showed at festivals in America and around the world. His 2nd feature film, "Laura Smiles", was produced by RKO Pictures, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was theatrically released by Emerging Pictures. Jason's yet to be produced scripts have received more than 50 accolades in all of the top screenplay competitions. These scripts can be found on Coverfly.
