Asja Pavlovic

Was born in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Studied acting at the
University of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Postgraduate in stage movement in
Prague, (Czechoslovakia, now Czech Republic). Started her acting career
with the Youth Theatre (Pozoriste mladih), Sarajevo. After five years
she switched to the National Theatre (Narodno pozoriste), Sarajevo,
where she spent more than 10 years. Performed for the Chamber theatre
(Kamerni teatar '55), Sarajevo, as a guest actor. Appeared in a number
of TV shows for TV of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Was awarded several times
for her theatre performances. After the break-out of war in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, she emigrated to Canada with her family. She joined
Carousel Theatre, Vancouver as an associate director. She also
continued acting on film and TV, and won Year 2000 Leo Award for Best
Female Performance in British Columbia, Canada, for the role of Sayma
in "My Father's Angel."
