Mercedes Olea studied acting in the UNAM (Mexico City public
university) and also graduated from Bennington College in Vermont. She
attended acting courses in England for a year and also studied in
Circle-in-the-Square Theater School in New york City. She began her
professional career in 1980 and has mainly participated in the Mexican
Theater obtaining various awards. She has successfully produced 2 plays
"Skirmishes" by Catherine Hayes and "The Road to Mecca" by Athol
Fugard. Throughout her career she has participated in various mexican
soap-operas, and tv series and also teaches acting. She speaks four
languages: her native spanish, english, french and russian. She is the
daughter of prominent Mexican actress Mercedes Pascual.
