Having worked for 15 years as an actor in Los Angeles, Richard has spent the last 10 years building a career as a theatre director. Specializing in the development of new musicals, Richard has directed west coast and world premieres at regional theaters all over the United States. Current development projects include JEWEL IN THE DESERT, with David Goldsmith (Book Writer - MOTOWN); A VERY BRADY MUSICAL with Lloyd Schwartz (Original Series Producer); ROCKET SCIENCE (Winner - Richard Rodgers Award); THE MOLLYHOUSE; and THE BABY PROJECT. Notable productions include VIOLET (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Direction of a Musical), the world premiere musical HOME STREET HOME, FLOYD COLLINS (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Direction and Outstanding Musical), 110 IN THE SHADE (LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for Outstanding Intimate Musical), WEST SIDE STORY, AVENUE Q and the world premiere of ANITA BRYANT DIED FOR YOUR SINS. Richard directed the award-winning musical short film INTO LIGHT, and was the theatrical coordinator for the Emmy award-winning series BIG LITTLE LIES. He is the proud recipient of the LADCC Career Achievement Award for Directing.
