Born in upstate New York, Mary-Margaret entered the world of show business having been cast in the lead role of Miriam, the Vestal Virgin by director Mel Brooks in his comedy feature "History of the World, Part I" Subsequently she amassed a roster of dozens of guest starring roles on a variety of tv shows playing everything from girl next door to femme fatales. She also was featured in over 75 national tv commercials and landed two national commercial contracts in her early career.
Her first series regular role was on the teenage hit "Eerie,Indiana on NBC, however, she is best known for her six year run on the WB breakout hit "Dawsons. Creek" where she played Gale Leery, the controversial yet loving mother of lead character Dawson (played by James Van der Beek.)
She has had lead roles in tv movies throughout her career and most recently was kept busy by The Hallmark Channel as well as Lifetime in their very popular holiday shows.
She likes dancing, horseback riding , snow skiing and is a total dog lover. She has been married to Hollywood soundman Raul Bruce since 1992. Together since 1980, when they met on the Mel Brooks film, they have shared their homes in LA as well as in Wilmington North Carolina with many rescued/adopted four legged children ... Nothing makes her happier.
