La ballerina e il gangster

Taxi dancer Marjorie Beebe has just gotten engaged to jealous Harry Gribbon. She's taking a week at the beach, and off she goes, to meet wealthy Frank Eastman. But Gribbon haunts her, and she tries to preserve her honor, and indeed her life

Few of the Mack Sennett sound shorts in this period are outstanding. The increase in costs for sound recording ate up his margins, and he was distributing through Educational in this period, and not the better funded Paramount .... although they would almost all wind up in receivership. Even more important, he couldn't afford the big mechanical gags that made his late silents absurd. His longtime and expert editor, William Hornbeck, had to make do with an optical printer that didn't merge the elements exactly.

Still, there are some laughs here, particularly in the early part of the movie, where Miss Beebe has to deal with some awfully odd dance partners.
