Bewaffa Se Waffa

Watched it on 9 March 2022. I feel the juhi s character is very weak... Firstly she forced her friend to marry her husband against her wish... And then she played victim card throughout the movie.

Saawan Kumar Taks attempt at a Muslim social like Nikaah (1982) failed miserably at the box office. The film had a couple of good songs ("Aaya hoon badi door se bilkul tumhare paas") but it wasnt enough to bring in the audience who found Vivek Mushran too young to play hubby to Juhi Chawla. As for the pretty Nagma, she didnt have anything to do in the film except grin and display her pearly white (teeth) before the camera.

I am rating this movie a 6, and I know that is being generous. I'll start of with what is good (and there isn't much); the songs and the concept are very on brand for your typical bollywood family drama circa the 80s, which I know many people would enjoy. That being said, this film is from 1992 so there is definitely a dated feel. For the bad, the performances by the lead trio. Juhi has the most screen time out of everyone and doesn't make the most of it. Her range of expressions have always been limited and she seems to rely on 4-5 expressions throughout. Vivek is over the top - there is no guessing why he didnt make it big. Nagma is functional. She has a few scenes where she adds a bit more than what was probably expected from her and you can see some potential there. The story is outdated and handled really poorly. If you decide to watch this, leave your brain at the door and just go with it.
