Uriyadi

Uriyadi (a game that involves pot breaking) is a poorly constructed film that gets too ambitious towards the end, despite its poor production value, and tries to act too smart with a juxtaposition of tasteless slapstick that does not blend with the plot and a crime drama with a touch of the good old vengeance element, ultimately giving you a bad taste. Uriyadi is a tells the story of a burglary happens in police quarters during the Onam Celebrations. The rest of the story deals the strategy used by police officers to find the burglar. Its an average fun ride filled with some unstable comedies. Its also throws a light to some social issues happens in the department.

With some better comedies and actors, Uriyadi could have been a better cinema experience.

The premise of the movie is a robbery that take place in a police living quarters during an Onam celebration. The movie deals with situations surrounding this robbery and how the police deal with it. Though there is a serious message provided at the end of the movie, other than the last 10 minutes, there are no serious instances in the movie and there is plenty of humor mixed in. Overall, its an enjoyable one time watch. The director has tried to add in parts to extend the length of the movie (like the lathi charge scene) which I thought was unnecessary and it would have been better if he stuck to something that would have taken the story forward.
