Performances: Mithun Chakraborty is my favorite actor. His performance here is excellent. Pooja Bhatt is very good. Atul Agnihotri excels from start to end. Sonali is good. Gulshan Grover shines as the conniving villain. Others are also good.
'Naaraaz' is a very well made flick, watch it for the honesty its made of. Thumbs up!
Why does the film fail? The film is rehash or remake of his earlier hit Naam, where two brothers/friends are separated in different countries due to circumstances and one begins to make is life from crime as he feels low in his own eyes. Only difference here is that one is rich and the other poor while in Naam it was two brothers from the same household.
The title itself shows the character of Deva who is angry with the world altogether, angry because he never got an education or even angry at his poverty, hence he wants to make his own life. The script could have been much a better considering the cast and the visuals, because they both are fantastic. The film has been made very well and directed well too, some of the scenes you can tell the producers have spent well money on. Some scenes really work wonder too, like:
Mithun and Atul's clash abroad. Mithun expresses his feelings to Pooja. Mithun's last fight at the haveli.
Mithun does well, he makes the film worth the watch for sure, as you can see, all the scenes belong to him too. Atul Agnihorti gives decent support. Pooja Bhatt is good. Sonali Bendre is okay. The songs are excellent, just two songs like 'Tumhe Hum Kya Samjh' and 'Sambala Hai Maine' just make the whole film.
Overall, a pointless remake of Naam. Bhatt could have picked a better script and made another film with the same cast and maybe even the same title, while the producers seem to have invested quite a bit in the movie too. Bad is the word. The film works for two reasons, Mithun and one of my favourite songs 'Tumhe Hum Kya Samjh'.

Wish he could have done better!
Deva (Mithun Chakraborty) is a Poor Villager Who Lives With His Father. All Deva Wants is That His Village Gets Clean Water. Deva Befriends Ajay (Atul Agnihotri) A Writer. Ajay Helps Deva. Ajay's Uncle Jagdambar(Bharat Kapoor) Owns The Fresh Water. After Few Mishaps Ajay Kills Jagdamber & Few Others. Cops Are After Him. He Manages To Escape And Lands in Malaysia Which Leads To Another Plot Altogether. He Starts Working For Taoke(Gulshan Grover) & Meets Sonia(Pooja Bhatt).
Acting Wise Mithun is Brilliant When it Comes To Emotional Scenes. Atul & Sonali Bendre Are Just Fine Nothing To Shout About. Bharat Kapoor Does Well in A Negative Character. Pooja Bhatt Has Less Screen Space With Usual Stuff. Gulshan Grover, Rana Jung Bahadur, Mushtaq Khan & Kunal Khemu(Young Ajay) Are Good.
Music is Just Awesome. "Sambhala Hai Maine" By Kumar Sanu is The Most Popular Romantic Track From The Movie. "Kitni Haseen Hai Raat" & "Tumhe Hum Kya Samajhte Hain" By Kumar Sanu Both Are Soft Romantic Track & My Favorites Too. "Tere Bin Main Kuch Bhi Nahi" Rare Duet By Kumar Sanu & Udit Narayan.

- ट्रिवियाAfter the success of Naam, the same team, Rajendra Kumar, Mahesh Bhatt and Salim Khan were to make a film titled Naaraz staring Rakhee Gulzar, Kumar Gaurav, Madhuri Dixit,Naseerudin Shah and Amrish Puri, but this film was not made. Mahesh Bhatt, and Amrish Puri never got the chance to work together after both being in the same industry for decades. Naraaz was shelved. Years later Mahesh Bhatt made another film titled Naaraaz with a different star cast and story.
- गूफ़During the beginning of the movie the child characters, later to be portrayed as adult characters by Atul and Mithun, are around the same age. As they grow into characters there is a visible age difference between the two characters. In real life, Mithun is 20 years older than Atul.
