Translated

This is such a fun movie! I'll be upfront & let people know, it IS INDEED one of those super churchy type of films, where it even has the "cool, hip black Christian" guy that is such a dumb stereotype in itself. You know the one...he's the super cool, down with it, urban guy; but not TOO "hood" because it's so obviously Christian made. The guy that the creators think will come across as SO COOOOOL and HIP...yet he just comes across as a stupid, corny fool...

That is my biggest issue is that it's so heavily Christian, which is okay...but they have to smack you over the head with it. Where in the end everything wraps up & fixes itself juuuuust perfectly, because everyone knows that real life ALWAYS has a clean, positive, happy outcome! Where the doubters come to have Faith & blah blah blah... Especially if the people are Christian lol. (Sarcasm...)

As much as I am bashing it for that...IF you're able to get over that aspect, it's actually a really cool little film! The man who plays Paul, you'll love him!! I would say if you're Christian, you'll really enjoy it...if you're not a devout Christian...you might just enjoy it for the idea, & I think any kids under 17, over 7-8 would find enjoyment in it.

It's NOT for people who have very serious questions, nor is it for those that enjoy the Faith films that are based more on real life, & real humans (Passion of the Christ, Paul: Apostle of Christ, arisen, Doubt, Silence etc etc.) this is more in the vein of your Kirk Cameron movies...as much as Kirk thinks he's an actor as equally as a Christian, he's not...

Great idea! Acurately created and powerful, but then again I am a Christian and I proudly declare it! I'm also a travel missionary! People always say stuff like if people from the Biblical era were in our life time they would act differently. I love how Paul kept his Identity in Christ even among the pressures and influences of our day. He never wavered. My Pastor says your Identity in Christ should always remain the same regardless where you are or what your circumstances are. I don't view my faith as a "religion" I call it a relationship with the greatest friend, Father and protector you could possibly fathom. Though he is so much more incredible and wonderful than I could ever possibly describe. I'd love to see more movies like this Translated movie. Unity in the body of Christ is critical to strengthen and build up the body of Christ to glorify him and open eyes to his wonderful majesty instead of looking for whatever will fill the longing or empty feeling in us humans. Nothing will ever work because we were designed to be as one with him. Like as a Husband that looses his wife, so it is with humans who do not have that relationship with him and are one as we were created to be. This is why without him in our heart we are lost and feel empty, searching for the next thrill or high or person or even object ect... That will complete them. It is only Jesus nothing else will do, at best they are like patches that only cover the hole but don't repair the truth that a whole is still there hidden beneath the mask. Come test taste and see that the Lord is Good! I also live free from any guilt, shame or condemnation not for anything I've done but because of the life giving gift of the cross. All glory goes to my Heavenly Father who created me hallelujah! I live FREE and you will know I am Christian by my love :) God bless all who read this Amen <3.

I'm a non-practicing Christian who loves SciFi movies and has enough education from catholic school growing up to understand the plot and story lines.

The movie takes us through a fairly realistic view (IMO) of what would happen if a guy suddenly showed up claiming to be an apostle that had been FFwd'd 2,000 years into the future. I did enjoy that part the most.

The remaining part of the movie is a reflection on how religion is practiced in today's society and some ideas around that. Even though I am non-lracticing I still enjoyed that.

I for sure think it is worth a watch even if just for the part of chalky seeing society reacting to a 2,000 YO man, and vice-versa.

DO NOT watch this movie if the following are true: you will nitpick plot holes to say why they are unrealistic (it IS a time travel movie), second class cinematography bothers you (for sure not a Hollywood film, but is indeed well done for a Low Budget film), amateur acting bothers you (they did great given what they had but for all but "Kayla", I believe it was their first film), and a you get bothered by religious reference/portrayal or inaccuracies.

Otherwise, have fun!

There is nothing "typical" about this "Christian" movie. It actually highlights a lot of non biased points that need to be addressed more often. I really enjoyed this movie and all it offered, not the cookie cutter "Christian" movie. Enlightening and entertaining. Thanks to the writer/director for a wonderful new perception about denominations and the insight to how original believers saw things.

I love anything that is based on the bible and this movie did not disappoint.
