In 1973, he co-produced an unsold sitcom pilot for CBS called "We Two" about a widower whose only son died during World War II who "adopts" a black orphan whose father was killed in Vietnam. The pilot was written by Rod Serling and starred Herschel Bernardi and Damon Ketchens.
In 1993, he became a founding director of the Thoroughbred Owners of California (TOC). In 2001 and 2002, he served as chairman of the California Horse Racing Board.
