Mr. Allen direction to the Twisted Childhood Universe is solid as it is, many Disney fans are NOT going to love this as much as I did, this 81 minute short feature runtime went through fast paced and done in a way that made me intense. Putting my foot down, the Visual Effects on Bambi looks beautiful crafted well top to bottom, cast did not a bad performance but solid, I more into international indie films like this one, we just had Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare back in January approx. (6 months ago), just got another film for the TCU which two TCU films in 1 year is extremely good, most of these films from the TCU are high expectations, usually once a year is enough to step back and work on another production. But 2 in 1 year is solid work, Thank you to the pre production team and the visual effects team who created Bambi as a monster that I adored.
Resurrection Road was a good film, First off, I appreciate the use of squibs and actual (blank) gunfire whenever they could be used. It looks so much better than a lot of the CGI gunfire and blood splatter I see in the majority of movies that appear to have have a similarly low budget. There is CGI in the movie, and some of it looks very cheesy (big explosions, some of the exterior and interior locations, etc.), but it looks like practical effects were used whenever possible. That makes a huge positive difference. I also enjoyed the story. Simple enough, straightforward, and surprisingly brutal. There's a scene early on that I didn't expect to have as much of an impact as it does. It set the tone for the rest of the movie extremely well. Believable characterizations that are mostly serious, but with some effectively fun lines sprinkled throughout. When I heard that Michael Madsen passed on July 3rd I was shocked and surprised that this is his final role of the film of 2025. Man I was deeply loved with his films thanks to Quentin Tarantino who'd inspired Madsen's role, His quote from a film: "If you're gonna compare a hanzo sword, you compare it to every other sword that wasen't made... by Hattori Hanzo" and his quote to be remembered by: " My career has been very strange. My career is like a heart monitor. I get involved in a good project now and then to keep things going. And then I make things that I work on that I hope are going to be good so I can make a living and keep a roof over the heads of those little monsters I have in my house." We will miss you Michael Madsen (1957/2025)
Nothing like the first-that pretty much sums it up. If you came in hoping for the creepy, unsettling horror that made M3GAN stand out, you're in for a disappointment. This sequel drops instead leans heavily into the Action/Thriller and sci-fi, with a splash of action. Unfortunately, the shift in tone doesn't do it any favors. Some parts humor-but not the clever kind. It's more like a bunch of ridiculous scenes strung together that feel out of place and over-the-top. And not in a "so bad it's good" way-just...bad. The acting is similar to the first, but it's hard to take the script. I walked out because M3GAN should of use WWE moves and her and Gemma should of use YOU CANT SEE ME 5 knuckle shuffle, the Cody Rhodes crossroads, the frog splash, the sphere on one of the security guards, M3GAN where is your belt to whip AMELIA. 3.9/10 I'm a Wrestling addict.
