Halloween Safety

If that one kid from your elementary school who was the wet blanket during recess (and basically any other activity) became a film, it would be this.

Halloween used to be so much fun. This video might be the documentation of exactly when people started to suck the fun out of being a kid. In fact, there has been little to no documentation of anyone being given candy by a stranger laced with dangerous chemicals, drugs, razors, needles, etc. There has been documentation of kids receiving said dangerous sweets from relatives or someone they know so maybe make sure your kids aren't buttheads in their daily life.

That all being said some of the tips in this might be useful, but it's such a killjoy that it comes off as funny.

Here's another of the many competent films that Herk Harvey directed for Centron over the decades. The IMDb lists about fifty of them, but I think the record is woefully incomplete.

Although the movie is well done, the message offered is rather depressing for some one like me, who remembers a child's Hallowe'en fondly. As the title suggests, it stresses safety, and insists it can be fun. Wear bright colors! Don't wear a mask! Don't eat the candy until mom or dad have checked it, because it might be poisoned!

It doesn't sound like fun to me. Of course, Hallowe'en has become a more adult version of itself, a chance for adults to wear costumes. That also doesn't interest me. I prefer to masquerade as an adult.
