Imagine the alphabet 'A'. Now, type this letter on an empty Microsoft Word document and save it as "Punyalan Agarbattis'. After that, use the formatting tools to play with its font size, color, design, and shadow. Once you are done and content with your dilly-dallying, 'save as' it on your computer and name it 'Punyalan Private Limited'. Director Ranjith Sankar's sequel to his 2013 hit film film is basically a re-purposing of the first film. The only two differences are: here Joy Thakkolkaran (Jayasurya) is promoting water made out of elephant urine (compared to incense sticks made out of elephant dung) and cribbing about the NDA government (compared to the UP government). Although Punyalan Private Limited starts off well and resumes where the prequel ended, it goes downhill very fast, and then spirals into a mess about political criticism. Thakkolkaran is fed up with the government, and this time, instead of knocking the court's doors, takes it up directly against the chief minister. There's no novelty in Sankar's writing, nor is there any freshness in Jayasurya's portrayal. It's all water under the bridge, except for Dharmajan's comedy and other occasional humor by the supporting cast. If you are from Kerala and follow politics, then this will be a much more entertaining affair. Otherwise, Punyalan Private Limited is just a rehash of what we saw four years ago. TN.
The energetic and ambitious common man Joy Thakkolkaran is back with a new business idea, more troubles and valid social issues.. writer-director Ranjith Shankar has come up with a good story and screenplay which starts off in familiar territory of Joy's business and humorous sequences with his group and moves on to serious socio-political drama post intermission...the strong, hard hitting dialogues are the biggest strength of the film and Joy acts as a common man's representative asking all the questions on behalf of us...Sreejith Ravi reprises his role as the ever funny and lovable Abhayakumar alias Thuthuru...Dharmajan joins the team as the legal adviser and adds to the humour...Aju Varghese as Greenu appears only on Skype unfortunately...Vijayaraghavan gets another important role and he plays it with his usual brilliance...overall, Punyalans' second outing engages throughout combining the humour and charm of the first one with Ranjith Shankar style focus on social issues...worth a watch!

The movie was good, but not that great. Compared to the prequel, I didn't like this much. But still it's watchable.
Punyalan Private Limited is a good film which discusses socially relevant issues. Kudos to Jayasurya and Ranjith Sankar for continuously doing films which bring positivity.
It may not have the fun elements of Punyalan Agarbattis, however, it covered a lot of political issues.
What Joy Thakolkaran says is what me and you know but didn't tell. Our generation only does protest by changing social media profile pictures or sharing posts, nobody including me doesn't do anything for the society. Our silence helps political parties to exploit us.
Rating: 3.5/5
