Resigned as head coach of Ohio State amid suspicion that six of his players, including
Terrelle Pryor,
Dan Herron,
Solomon Thomas, and
Devier Posey, had received improper benefits in violation of NCAA rules. Ohio State vacated all of its wins from the 2010 season, including its Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl titles, and placed the football program on two years' probation. The NCAA placed Ohio State on an additional one year's probation, and banned it from post-season play in 2012.
