Mira, the strategist and lieutenant in the Evil Organization, falls in love at first sight with Byakuya, a magical girl. They begin meeting each day for sweets and tea. His co-workers think he's struggling with work responsibilities as he works to keep her safe. This show with only 12-minute episodes, is more complex than it first appears. Their awkwardness is endearing. Byakuya's familiar is a cat (most of the time) who can only be called her pimp. He recruited her, designed her revealing uniform (which she is suggestively, but not graphically nude while changing), sexually harasses her daily, and is the centerpiece of the sexualized imagery. He also smokes, drinks and cusses in extremes. Additionally, Mira's thoughts about how he enjoys seeing Byakuya tied up. ~AnimeGuide4Moms.
This anime series is centred on Mira and Byakuya Mimor. He is the trusted lieutenant to the leader of an evil organisation which is trying to conquer the world; she is a magical girl whose job is to thwart the organisation's plans. When they meet he falls in love with her and they become friends... will they be able to hide their friendship from their respective superiors?
I thought this was a fun little series. The fact that each episode is only twelve minutes long means they never outstay their welcome and drag like some shows do. The central characters are likeable and the story is fun. The story is sweet and delivers a decent number of laughs. Character designs and animation are of a good quality. Overall I thought this was rather fun and would definitely recommend it to anime fans.

Can Evil Overcome Cute?
He's evil. He was born evil, he was born to evil parents, he was born in an evil country, he worked his way up the evil ladder and now he's the evil Emperor's right hand man. How could he fall in love with this tiny CHIBI thing? Yet he did. At first sight. Even while she was defeating him.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of this magic girl," he assures all the leadership at the conference table. He ain't lyin. He takes /excellent/ care of her. When he sees her again, he whips out a dessert. They share it with some tea. She tells him what a good heart he has, and he grabs his chest and agony.
Based on a manga, TMG&TELUTBA is a 2024 Bones Studios release that is rated 7.57 on MAL. It is 1 season consisting of 12 hilarious and adorable 12-minute English dubbed episodes with CC available.
Here's a guy who's truly a bull in a china shop. At least, breakables don't stand much chance around him. He's shattering things constantly. Every time she says something that pierces his heart or is remotely cute, he ends up crushing the dinnerware. Tbf, EVERYTHING she says and does is adorable, beyond comprehension, to him. Before his assault on ceramics started, his glasses were breaking. He goes through a dozen an episode, on average. The 1st time he lays eyes on her, they shatter.
"You stood in our way the other day, magical girl. Because of that, today you're in for... a present. Do you like chiffon cake?" This romance serves to show that logic has no chance against matters of the heart. He knows he has to kill her. She's been thwarting all their plans. He told everyone in the Evil Kingdom he was going to go destroy her. He probably chose to believe it when he said it. Yet he goes and does the opposite, and the porcelain starts poppin.
"Thank you, Mr. Lieutenant." "Oh! What is this agony?" There goes a saucer.
"You have a big heart, Mr Lieutenant." She has gigantic, luminous azure eyes looking over the huge pile of cake on a plate. He seizes up and grabs his chest. "Thump Thump Thump" rings in our ears. "What the he!! Is this feeling? It's like my chest is in a vice!" She notices a hole in his uniform and offers to mend it. "It's like we're married," he realizes. He drops the cup AND a saucer; hot tea goes everywhere. She assures him that she's good at patching clothes. He smashes the teapot and screams to himself: "I'd do anything for her!" He loses his phone when she offers to cook him dinner. It crumbled in his hand like potato chips.
He finds out she works at a convenience store and asks for a demonstration of how she waits on the customers. In her tiny little voice she looks up and says "Would you like your Bento warmed?" Whoops! He smashed the whole teapot. Instead of killing her, he offers to buy her a year's worth of rice when he finds out she doesn't eat enough. Out comes The Black Card. He uses it most episodes. He even offers it to her, so she can get whatever she wants, but she deflects saying he's done too much for her already. (CRRACCCCKK! There goes a dessert plate, sigh.)
Thus is the story of Mimori Byakuya ("MG") and Miller Shun ("EL"). She has a handler who looks like a mean cat, but he's more. (The plot isn't half bad!). There's women interested in EL, back at the evil fortress, but he's never taken notice. The romance is very compartmentalized. They won't admit they are dating for a moment. They are researching the other side (especially him). But they meet nearly every day. He always brings a gift. He's workin that Black Card out OT.
MG's boss is a divine messenger, of sorts, even though he's a hard drinker, hard smoker, a hardened disposition, and a bit of a lech. He's not the only one. There are other handlers and other magical girls. One day, we meet another divine messenger who declares MG a failure. He proposes a new magical girl, Kagari Hibana.
They already had a good show. All the elements were there. But then they go and kick it up another level with Hibana. Is it Tourettes syndrome? She's unforgettable with her filthy mouth. That's only because she feels so intensely. She reminds me of a tortoise-shell cat. They're known for being super aggressive & attacking their owners, but they're also extremely loving and sweet. They're just intense. They feel deeply. So does Hibana. She may be propped up across from MG as a potential replacement, but they went to grade school together, and they were friends. Hibana loves Byakuya. She wants to squeeze MG until she doesn't breathe. She actually does, on occasion. But it's out of pure affection. This Hibana character does reek of divine inspiration, she's so much fun.
All this while, EL's minions and colleagues are slowly getting suspicious.
The theme is that cuteness is one of the most potent powers in existence, and it getz no cuter than this. The nature of love and attraction is on display here. MG is not the most beautiful girl in the world. She's more cute than beautiful. At the end of the day, most people (Most MEN) prefer cute. Women dress up for eachother and put on makeup for eachother, out of competitiveness, more than they do to please men. What men and women find attractive about women is often different. The show displays how men actually prefer cute - they want something that feels like home. The vast majority of animators are male. We can learn a lot about the nature of attraction, even from a silly show like this.
The art is light and whimsical. It's played for laughs and mirth. The Evil Minions look like the Gimp from Pulp Fiction, but with a gray cross configuration on their black onesies. They are practically nonverbal. They talk in a series of shrieky grunts (EEEEEP!) which are always interpreted in the subtitles. Those translators are prodigious!
I just loved this show and enjoyed every moment it was onscreen. But, what did I just watch? At the very end, they say "most of the interpretations are wrong" (❗❕ ! ❔❓) At least the feelings are the same...
Can evil overcome cute? Notta chance.

This anime will fill you with warmth while enjoying some cheap laughs. I would have loved to seen more than 12 episodes that are only 12 minutes but sadly the author passed and left us wanting more. It really is worth watching if you are in to sweet romances.
