Christmas with the Pups

The extra long cuts make it look like the actor/ress's are schizophrenic and simply reacting to the air. The dogs either talk juuuust out of frame, or their mouths are terrifyingly over exaggerated.

The dogs are adorable though - they did a great job. Hearing their little tippy taps every time they walked on the hardwood floor made me chuckle. Whenever they were on screen, it felt like watching this movie was worth it. I'd sit and watch two hours of the dogs, honestly. Preferably they would not speak, though. Im pretty sure i will see their animated mouths tonight in my nightmares.

Why does everyone immediately drool over the main love interest?? As soon as he enters the room, it's like every woman (human or not) is completely consumed by lust. Even the mom is ready to jump his bones as soon as her daughter's out of the picture. Every interaction feels forced and predatory. It does provide some comedic relief, though the random sexually charged commentary always took me by surprise.

Also, I noticed that the prissy rich dog had a british accent, while the poor dog had a country accent. As an american, i find that absolutely hilarious.

The butt sniffing jokes left an unpleasant feeling in my stomach. The influencer character was absolutely ruthless and the dog is better off without her. I still don't understand why some animals talk and some don't - not only that, but the movie would've been exactly the same if they didn't talk at all. The ending was very abrupt, but at least it was a happy one.
