DILKHUSH is the rare movie that succeeds on almost every level, where each character, scene, costume, and joke firing on all cylinders to make a film worth repeated viewings.

Great acting, a nice story and excellent execution. And very relatable. Some very prominent social issues of our times are woven into the structure of the story. The loneliness even amidst endless social media consumption and participation, the stigma of seemingly age-inappropriate behaviour, the desire to live and love despite all odds, complicated filial relatuonships, it's all in there.
Nothing much to say separately about the cast. If you throw actors like Poran Bandopadhyay, Kharaj Mukherjee, Anindita Adhya into any creation, it is bound to get a level of its own. Refreshingly free of the so called glam icons, this movie is a weekend treat for the careworn soul battered by the week's usual battles.

How often do you watch a good movie in a theatre? Quite often right? Ok let me rephrase the question, how often do you watch a good BENGALI movie in a theatre? See? Got you!
I'm speaking about Rahool Mukherjee's "Dilkhush". Today is Cinema Lover's Day hence quite shamelessly I went to watch Dilkhush at Miraj, Newtown because obviously ticket prices were less and we may go on shouting and telling people to support Bengali Films but we actually don't give a damn because of the quality of films, but Dilkhush? Dilkhush is an exception.
Let's come to the review.
Dilkhush is a story about 8 individuals, lost in life, publicly happy, personally sad. Socially with a ton of friends, but loner IRL. Dilkhush is like a dating app where these 8 people find their pairs which makes them 4. So? We have 4 pairs, 4 stories, 4 emotions and a thin rope tying them together that is, LOVE. My stakes for Dilkhush was high ever since the trailer dropped especially because of my man Soham Majumdar. Am a fan, am a well wisher!
I have never seen such a concept, such a story being narrated in the Bengali Film Industry. Even in Bollywood it's rare. Something similar to Dilkhush in Bollywood was Anurag Basu's "Ludo", where there are 4 individuals, 4 stories and they are linked but the plot, the style of execution everything is different. Dilkhush stands out brilliantly in storytelling. Mark my words. The flow of this film is very well maintained. Not a single scene in this movie feels forced/unnecessary which might seem unnecessary when you watch the movie in bits and pieces hence if you are watching this movie, devote the 2 and a half hours completely in this film. I'm guaranteeing, you won't regret your time. Dilkhush trailer was misleading bro. The film has layers in it. The film has everything in it. Everything to call it a blockbuster.
