Elizabeth Gillies is too talented to be here, in the beginning of the movie she got a few real laughs out of me, her delivery is on point as always but even she couldn't save this movie in the long run. On a real level she is the reason I watched this, I've recognized her talent ever since Victorious aired on nickelodeon, I always thought she was the best actor and singer on that show and was so excited to see her grow in both fields. Sadly most projects she is attached to don't tend to be all that good, this is no exception. This movie is degenerate for degeneracys sake, if this movie came out when I was in or fresh out of high school I probably would have fooled myself into liking it more, but I'm 27 and this movie is too Juvenile for how explicit it is. The characters are cartoonishly over the top, and the plot is predictable. Not to get too graphic but this is not an accurate portrayal of the porn industry, and I get its a comedy and dosen't have to be, but all the sex positive feminism in porn is vastly overstated. The industry is rampant with addiction, disease, abuse, and SA along with a ton of other problems that feminists as well as all decent people could easily identify as moral evils. This isn't the worst thing ive seen Liz in I can't say I enjoyed "Animal" more than this movie but I really hope she gets some better roles in the future.
I had no idea what to expect but I am really happy I found this for my girlfriends. It had a unique style and we laughed out loud (ok giggling too) last night. We even learned some new vocabulary and found some new ideas....
Terrific cast -I really loved the connection between Harvey and Elizabeth and there was even a moving scene with them that was surprising. I liked that it wasn't so much about 'sex' but that there was a storyline I could follow- light and fun for a girls night...it gave us quite a bit to talk about.
Definitely not suitable for the kids but certainly could be a conversation starter for a partners. Interesting take on a 'taboo' industry and it was great to see the influence a woman could have in that male dominated world.

Despite its unserious tone, this movie proves to be a delightful and engaging comedic romp throughout. Elizabeth Gillies shines in her role, skillfully portraying a strong female presence in the workplace. Each of the coworkers feel right, even if they are a bit cliche (the mean one, the weird one, the old man, and the one you want to be with).
Every joke hits its mark, with several delivering laugh-out-loud moments. Considering its modest budget and relatively short production schedule, it offers a refreshing blend of comedy and a contemporary perspective on the adult entertainment industry.

A fun lighthearted romp into behind-the-scenes at an adult industry magazine publisher. Really lovely set design and fun colorful costumes. The story is cute following a journalist who almost experiences a late coming of age. The story really drew me in and made me forget about so much else going on in the world. A real breather from the every day grind. We need more of these movies. Great direction! There are some funny one liners. My favorite character was Nelson, he reminded me of Herve from "call my agent" which I thoroughly enjoyed. Make sure to watch Spread when the kids aren't around. 9/10.
This moves along in a good-natured way, with mainly predictable steps. Once we get to the offices of a porn site/magazine, there are some easy jokes off sex toys, etc. And a few stock characters - a malevolent loser, a slightly creepy if sweet nerd, a decent potential love interest. Elizabeth Gilles looks a little like she wandered out of "Two Broke Girls" and has a similar mix of conventional and adventurous sexuality. Her surprise mission is vaguely reminiscent of "Ugly Betty" or "The Devil Wore Prada", with her out to save a world she initially doesn't sympathize with at all; at moments it feels a little like "Emily in Paris" if Emily had ended up in a completely unfamiliar industry rather than a new city. The ultimate outcome isn't particularly surprising, but the journey to get there is painless enough if you're not watching too closely.
