Hate the art style, feels really off story is very bland and Generic would've been better as a stand alone ona the characters look super off the animation is messed up and looks like someone who probably was on heroine or meth this should've never been made. The story is all over the place I regret watching this it should've been a stand alone lupin ona I do appreciate the use of the original English dubbed cast but that's as far I go. The character models are off, the story is bland and boring at times the premise is very generic this should've never come outta Japan. I could tell right away from watching this it wouldn't be that good.
I surprisingly enjoyed this one, despite the bad reviews saying otherwise. I haven't seen either franchise but after watching this, I might delve into both. The character interactions worked perfectly well, considering that this was a crossover, the CG animation surprisingly worked pretty well (and this is coming from someone who disliked Batman Ninja), and the performances were perfect. Not to mention the relationship between Lupin and AI was very touching and sibling-like. Only downside would be the villains but it was a minor nitpick and the rest of the characters more than made up for it. And finally the ending was a nice touch to the whole story, wrapping it up in a satisfying way that felt in character.
An excellent crossover film! Whether you're already a fan of one of the series or both, there's a very good chance you'll thoroughly enjoy this movie. All the characters are present and accounted for, retaining their signature humor and penchant for crazy action, and they interact in a way that really clicks. Lupin does seem to carry a significant portion of the exposition, but the film also provides some heartfelt and eagerly anticipated expansions to the lore surrounding the Cats characters. The action sequences are wonderfully directed, and if you happen to have a 5.1 surround sound system at your disposal, the combination of cinematic mayhem and jazzy music will provide an incredibly immersive and powerful audio experience.
So this film was made to celebrate the anniversary of Lupine III and Cat's Eye and that's how they made this film Crossover. I'll tell you that I didn't like the Cat's Eye series because it always made the male characters look stupid because no one of the police suspected that thethree sisters are the three thieves and yet the evidence was there she had the same shape the same haircut they have a place called Cat's Eyes and no one suspects them for me I didn't like that anime at all So the plot speaks and the three Thieves not to steal three paintings thatthey belonged to their father but this time he is also interested in Lupine III and so they do everything to get it So what do I think of this film it was another bad Lupine film So the story is just confusing that you can't understand anything where they should parry Thesecharacters then the animation for me is truly incredible that the Japanese who still use 3D animation for me are not at all good at making this type of film this type of graphics was no longer better as always and do it with classical music animation instead of this GGI then imovements only very horrible But I'll say one thing the GGI made with machinery is very acceptable but with people it's really unwatchable then the design is really ugly but it compares to Lupine's because the Pink jacket really recalls the version of the third series of Lupine and the characters for me are not done well but the one made much worse is the boy who is one of the three thieves that he doesn't know he is really treated very badly in this film And if someone will say But this gang of Cat's Eyes had already done a appeared in another film namely City HunterBut that was just a small extra This is really a Crossover unless it's not even made better but I consider this Crossover much better than the one in Detective Conan because in those two films Lupine was treated badly instead in this one with cat's eyes it just doesso-so and I also tell you that I consider this film bad but at least bad compared to the other worst Lupine III films and I'm happy that this film was released on first video because someone would have felt bad repeating it at the cinema has obscured a I didn't see anything elsethat other 3D animated film of Lupine but seeing some films the animated one was done much better than this one and I tell you that this is all I have finished reviewing the Lupine films to say they are fast but I haven't seen the others yetyou'll see in the future but I will also review the two live action films to conclude with a 5.5 rating.
I love Lupin 3rd, and I LOVE Cat's Eye even more. I grew up with both shows in the 80s, and I worshipped Cat's Eye, read all the manga, watched all the anime. So when I saw this title on Amazon Prime, I was excited to watch it. But what a disappointment it was. The anime style and character design is so bad and amateur that not only it was distracting, I actually started getting a headache from watching the whole 93 minutes of the movie. The story premise had potential, but it became more stupid as the minutes went by. I could see the plot twist pretty much the minute the character involved in the twist showed up at the beginning of the movie. Whoever wrote the story completely butchered the beloved characters - Lupin was never charming or likable, even after they tried giving him a heart of gold. He just seemed like a total a-hole. The Kisugi sisters (the Cat's Eye trio) were so naive and dumb, not at all cunning and smart like they were in the manga or anime. Even their action scenes came off as cheap acrobat tricks, no elegance or grace. The villains were completely laughable, and all the supporting characters are boring and forgettable, even Fujiko was lame. It's almost like the writer(s) has never studied the original works that this movie was based on. What a shame that a new generation of viewers were introduced to these amazing characters in such an awful way. I highly recommend skipping this lame-fest and watch the original animes from the 80s/90s instead.
