Hearing about someone living in peoples houses and they not know it has always been so creepy and scary to me so Phrogging:Hider in My House is right up my alley and anyone's who loves scary creepy shows. It's even scarier watching it with the lights out.
Phrogging: Hider in My House is a tense, unsettling series featuring stories of real people who found strangers living in their homes. Each episode features a different family or group of friends telling their story of how they came to discover there was an uninvited stranger fully infiltrating and invading peoples' homes. The episodes are edited to juxtapose first-hand accounts with actors doing dramatic reenactments. It's an engaging way to tell a story. The series' tone is well-balanced and does a good job of emphasizing the seriousness of the story without being overly-dramatic. The people and stories featured in each episode are all unique in their own way, so it never really feels repetitive, even though each one ends in a similar fashion. It's an easy watch with the right blend of suspense and tension perfectly timed for creepy Halloween binges.
The series certainly started out creepy and interesting with individuals sharing experiences of strangers living in their homes, but slowly turned into tales of stalking and revenge. Not exactly phrogging at that point, is it? I also found myself getting irritated with some of the individuals in certain cases. Why would someone choose to confront a complete stranger who may be dangerous or have a severe mental illness instead of immediately leaving the premises and/or calling the police? Not to sound uncaring but I found myself feeling very little concern for those specific individuals in those cases. Ended up not finishing the entire series because I just couldn't handle the off topic episodes and complete idiocy of some of the "survivors". Watch if you're intrigued, but expect that to quickly dissipate.
First of all, half of the episodes don't involve "phrogging," at all.
Basically, this is the same "true crime" garbage that we see all over the streamers. As I said in another review, this is cheap, lowest common denominator programming.
Lame reenactments and talking heads, barely watchable.
The reenactment locations often don't even remotely resemble the "true crime" photographs. Why bother? Often, the actors don't even match the talking heads that they are playing.
You will find yourself yelling at the scream, "Go call the %$#@#$ police, NOW!" Most of these "victims" have absolutely no common sense. I made it through half of them (while on the treadmill each day), but finally found the whole thing infuriating.
The masses seem to devour this junk, and it's cheap, cheap, cheap programming.
DO. NOT. WATCH. THIS.

I was excited to start this series. The idea of people that hide in another person's home undetected really fascinated and scared me.
The first episode is probably the peak of the series and from their the episodes kind of go downhill with the occasional good one being thrown in for good measure.
The series gets a bit distorted and we wonder from Phrogging into more stalking and crazy ex's.
I've watched every episode and I know not every story can be as good as eachother.
The first couple of episodes are definitely worth the watch.
The rest to me were somewhat back ground noise that I zoned in and out of whilst doing other tasks.
