If you enjoy pavement comedy with over exaggerated reactions and sounds, then watch the first two Mr Bones movies...as this one is short of any comedy whatsoever, almost like it was written over a weekend. Really. Awful.
As someone who has enjoyed Leon Schuster's work over the years, I was genuinely looking forward to Mr. Bones 3. The first two installments of the Mr. Bones series brought laughter and fun to audiences with their unique blend of slapstick comedy, quirky characters, and lighthearted storytelling. Unfortunately, Mr. Bones 3 fails to live up to its predecessors, leaving fans with a disappointing and lackluster experience.
The most glaring issue with this movie is its storyline. A good comedy, even one built on slapstick humor, needs a solid plot to anchor its jokes and keep the audience engaged. Sadly, Mr. Bones 3 offers a story that feels disjointed, rushed, and ultimately meaningless. The narrative meanders from one scene to another without any real purpose, making it difficult to stay invested in the characters or their journey. The lack of cohesion in the plot creates an overall sense of confusion rather than amusement.
The visual effects, which could have been used to enhance the comedic elements, are shockingly poor. In an era where CGI technology has advanced tremendously, the effects in Mr. Bones 3 feel outdated and cheap. Instead of complementing the humor, the subpar visuals distract from it. It's almost as if the filmmakers didn't prioritize this aspect of the production, which is disappointing given how much CGI is used in the movie.
Another significant flaw is the humor itself. Leon Schuster has built his career on creating comedies that resonate with a wide range of audiences. His earlier works, while sometimes controversial, often had moments of cleverness and genuine hilarity. In contrast, the jokes in Mr. Bones 3 are overly childish, cringeworthy, and unimaginative. Many of the gags rely on outdated tropes and slapstick that feel recycled from previous films. Rather than feeling fresh or funny, the humor often feels forced and awkward, leaving viewers to cringe rather than laugh.
The performances in the movie also fail to salvage the weak script. While Schuster himself brings his usual energy to the role, even his charisma can't save this sinking ship. The supporting cast is largely forgettable, with performances that range from overly exaggerated to completely wooden. The lack of chemistry among the characters only adds to the movie's problems, making it difficult to connect with the story on any level.
One of the most frustrating aspects of Mr. Bones 3 is that it feels like a missed opportunity. The franchise has always been known for its quirky humor and memorable moments, but this installment fails to capture that magic. Instead, it comes across as a lazy cash grab, relying on the name recognition of the series rather than delivering anything of real substance. Fans of the original films will likely be disappointed by the lack of effort put into making this movie a worthy addition to the series.
Even the target audience for this film is unclear. While the humor might appeal to very young children, the childish jokes and slapstick moments lack the sophistication needed to entertain older viewers. At the same time, the movie doesn't offer anything particularly engaging or educational for younger audiences, leaving it in a strange limbo where it fails to resonate with any demographic.
It's worth noting that comedy is subjective, and some viewers might find moments of Mr. Bones 3 amusing. However, for longtime fans of Leon Schuster or anyone expecting a film on par with his earlier work, this movie is likely to be a letdown. The lack of a coherent plot, poor CGI, uninspired humor, and forgettable performances all combine to create a movie that feels like a shadow of what it could have been.
In conclusion, Mr. Bones 3 is a disappointing and cringeworthy installment in what was once a beloved comedy franchise. It's a movie that struggles to find its footing, offering little more than a few fleeting moments of amusement amidst a sea of mediocrity. As a fan of Leon Schuster, it's disheartening to see such a poorly executed project associated with his name. If you're considering watching this movie, you might want to lower your expectations-or skip it altogether. For me, it was a waste of time, and I can only hope that Schuster's future projects will return to the level of quality that made his earlier works so memorable.

What an absolute pot of tripe. The 1st edition of this "trilogy" was an absolute classic. Sadly this was a poor poor attempt of a sequel. Watch the 1st rather. Don't ruin it by watching this. Leon used to be such a brilliant story teller. Seems hes milking this series to raise funds for his next knee replacement. Story is horrible. Characters recycled. Clearly a lower budget than before. The 2nd installment was bad but watchable. This one isn't worth the film is made one. Go watch a classic rather. Oh Schucks here comes untag or something. There is a Zulu on my stoep... I'd prefer loadshedding.
Highly disappointed. Please Do not waste time or money on this movie! Cheap jokes, cheap sound affects, really the worst one yet. 2 hours I will never get back. Did not enjoy it one bit!
Would give 0 stars if it was an option. The acting was horrible! Please let this be the last one! He is busy losing his legend. Should have stopped while you were ahead Leon.
Very disappointed in this.

Very disappointed in this.
Not worth the money and effort to see at the movies. Very few laughs. Good actors and characters wasted on cheap jokes and unfunny cliched and predictable slapstick.
