This is one of the four featurettes on the DVD of The Invasion(of 2007), and one of the three that's around(in this case, just under) 3 minutes long. That does not make for a lot of opportunity to expand on much of anything, and this does feel rushed and curt in its pace rather than concise. It consists of interviews, behind the scenes footage and clips of the film. They talk about how the other versions were politically charged, that this one is about how we react to big catastrophes, and how governments use fear to control the population. Oh, and then all of a sudden, they say that this is a story about a mother trying to ensure her own and her child's safety, and then Silver wraps it up by saying it's exciting. And that's frankly it. I was glad to see the director state what I got the sense was part of what he was trying to say with the movie, but this documentary is kind of all over the place and too short to reach any noticeable level of depth, especially when it's trying to cover all this ground. It's too bad, it does have something to say and it's well-produced. I don't know if they couldn't get enough material to flesh it out, or if they were pressed for time; however, the result is clear and unmistakable. Unfortunate. I recommend this to those who want to know more about the picture. 6/10
