This series tries to be funny. The "jokes" are very stupid and primitive. The creators say they "wanted to show a typical Polish family". This is designed like -- and probably even copied from -- Al Bundy (the Polish title is very similar to that one, so the connection is clear). The characters are not funny, they are stupid at all. All the jokes come from the people being stupid, you won't find any situation jokes or gags. However, Al Bundy was much funnier, I could believe, that he was stupid, here I can't. If there is some wiser joke, it would be completely clear -- you know what is going to happen next. If you look for something that will keep your attention, better find something else. This series is boring and a waste of time.

This is the best show ever. Whenever I am in Poland, I always seek this extremely funny and witty serial. When I saw this first in 2000, I was so laughing that nearly burst my sides. Please, keep in mind that this is not a real Polish family. No, this is just one huge exaggeration of the worst Polish (and Russian!) traits. What you have there - a drinking, lazy Dad, never at work and always telling his Son how to behave when in fact he himself cannot do anything properly. Son - lazy, stupid, coward guy. Mom - unhappy woman, who works for all her family and never complains. Her Mom - a sly, energetic, vivid Granny who hates Dad and always quarrels with him. Fat Neighbor - Pan Boczek - a real hapless man who always attracts mishaps. Old Neighbor - another sly, inquisitive man. Beautiful Niece, played by one and only Agnieszka Wlodarczyk - sweet, soft and so nice... After all, this is life, there are such unhappy but sincerely merry families. If you deny this, then you tell lies to yourself. Also pay attention to the Theme Song by hilarious band The Big Cyc - very much in Frank Zappa's style. If you are tired after a long working day, this is the serial for you!

I have never seen such a stupid film. The director tried to show a typical polish family, but he didn't succeed.Although the real polish family contains some characteristic of Kiepscy's family, it is different(I mean much more clever).While watching this film, some people may create a wrong stereotype of polish family (unemployed,lazy husband, nervous woman, who is a breadwinner, uneducated children). the only advantage of this film is the crew. Andrzej Grabowski (Ferdek Kiepski)is a very gifted actor and comedian, who makes the film more attractive and appealing.What a pity that he agreed to star in this movie.

This show is a perfect take on typical Polish families. The satire is very sophisticated, characters are colorful and the cast is just perfect. Some people compare it to "Married with the family" but to be honest this show remains me more of "The Simpsons" seeing how grotesque is the world the characters live in. Each episode is full of satirical bits which mainly Polish people will gut but on second hand I know people from England who enjoy this show as well. Unfortunately the show got weaker and weaker after many years but the first few season are just fantastic . If you don't get this show you probably have no satirical taste… or your simply Polish ;)
