This short contains a split-second image of Kiyoshi Atsumi I think, from the Tora-san series. He was born the same year as this short's director, Osamu Tezuka (found that out when trying to double-check whether it really was Kiyoshi Atsumi I saw).
This is pretty wild and creative, typical for a n Osamu Tezuka short. It takes a step into distasteful territory by showing real images from World War II, then talks about atomic weapons in a way that's surprisingly dark and perhaps supposed to be funny? But then it's all in service of a toilet-heavy punchline to the whole short.
Before then, Memory also has some perverted stuff, but I'll admit, that didn't take me off-guard as much as the war images. Still, I kind of admire the swings this took. It's humorous, existential, and certainly packed with imagination.
