The Reckoning

We're presented with a post-apocalyptic world that in many ways resembles Mad Max, with the protagonist riding her motorcycle across a desolate wasteland and stumbling upon a camp of strange people. But then, the story shifts into familiar alien invasion territory, reminiscent of films like Independence Day, Battle: Los Angeles, or Skyline-except here, the massive, deadly ships in the sky are controlled not by aliens, but by powerful and dominant humans, somewhat like in Oblivion. These elite figures live in abundance, with access to resources and comfort, while those on the surface struggle to survive.

Returning to the alien invasion comparison, The Reckoning follows a familiar pattern: the protagonist is one of the few-if not the only one-who knows how to fight back against the oppressors. I think the quality of this short film-acting, visuals, and overall production-is quite strong. There's definitely potential for a full-length feature or series, especially considering the intriguing cliffhanger.
