Story is the heart of movie. A good movie must have a good story. Otherwise nothing will work. And in this context 'Dhaka Attack' passed easily with good marks. I'm not telling the story is unique or brilliant. But it is good and interesting.
'Serial Killer' kinda thing is very common in the movies nowadays. We've seen a lot from Hollywood, Bollywood, Korean and even from south Indian movie industry. But this is totally new genre for a Bangladeshi movie.
Almost everything in this movie worked perfectly except the VFX (!?) and lead actress Mahiya Mahi! VFX should have been better. Considering the low budget, we may forgive the VFX, but what about Mahiya Mahi? In every sense of the word, she was horrible! She couldn't portrait her character. Her over- acting, way of talking, expression everything was disappointing.
Arefin Shuvo and ABM Sumon did their best and acted very well. Shatabdi Wadud was phenomenal as always. Special thanks to Taskin Rahman for his outstanding performance and screen appearance as the villain. Music was good with appropriate BGM. Action sequences and cinematography were also very good (again the VFX is the only week point here).
Overall, it's a good movie. Considering Bangladeshi industry it's a very good movie. Probably the best thriller movie ever made in Bangladesh.
Definitely worth to watch!

Definitely worth to watch!
The movie has a nicely written script along with an excellent direction. the story was totally excellent. from the beginning to end, it was totally good. Specially Arifin Shubho was too good. The movie is worth to watch. The cinematography could be a little better. only for that the rating is 8. otherwise it was an excellent movie with a superb ending
Story: Good story. Not extraordinary but good enough. At some point it was very predictable but for most of the time it was thrilling. 22/30 for the story.
BGM: Although some background sound was collected(For 10 to 15 minutes I assume ) from 'Inception', it was good overall. I do have to mention one thing, I didn't find the collected sounds well executed. Adding to this, I also must say that I was pleased with their own original soundtracks. They were really good in creating the tension that you usually get while watching thrillers. The song 'Tikatolir More' was good as it added some plot but other songs were completely unnecessary. 'Tup Tap' song depicted that the lead male character and female character is building up some romantic interest for each other while he was driving her home. This whole thing could have been shown in some other way and the song was not needed there. The timing of 'Poth je dake' was good when it was played but it could have been better in its materials. I personally felt that it failed to create the intended emotion in the audience for which it was there. Moreover, enough emotion was already created by the story itself. So it could have been skipped altogether. 15/20 for BGM and songs.
Acting: Taskeen bhai was just awesome. Some villain Bengali movie industry hasn't seen before. His appearance, acting, dialogue-delivery everything was just perfect... He has an influence of the 'Greatest Hollywood villain' The Joker... and I liked it. 9/10 for him.
Arefin Shuvo and ABM Sumon was really good at their roles of AC Abid and SWAT leader Ashfaq respectively. 8/10 for both...
Nawshaba 7/10 Mahi 6.5/10 Wadud shaheb 7.5/10
Other supporting characters were good. That fatty cameraman of Chaity and 'Double' officer with Abid was funny. The gangsters were good too, I liked that 'Chatgaiya(from Chittagang)' stolen-car dealer. The police officer(can't recall the character name) at training in Malaysia was good too along with other Malay officers. He seemed like a real officer, was he? Anyway, my overall rating for the acting performances here is 15/20
Filming: I really liked the way camera shifted from one scene to another... its something new in Bengali film which is well executed in 'Dhaka Attack'. The way they shot inside a bomb, liked it. Camera angles were also good. 9/10
Editing: VFX was not up to the mark.. but okay(chole) considering the industry's budget constraint. 7/10
Direction: 8/10 for overall Direction. Best wishes for Dipankar Dipon sir and his upcoming projects.
Total: 76/100
(This is a slightly biased review. More accurate rating of this film can be somewhere around 65/100. The reason I'm being a bit generous is because this film has brought some good stuffs into the action & thriller genre of Bangladeshi films that was not there before. And if I have to compare it with other action entries from Bangladesh, this one's a gem!)
Whatever it is, you should watch it to feel the change in Bangladeshi films. Its changing...

In Bangladesh movie industry thriller is a very very rare genre. But people love to watch action packed thriller. This movie had promises to be a perfect cop thriller, but then come the traditional romantic melodrama! The 'mighty' Mahia mahi! Dear director, please ask yourself, why there will be a glamour queen for every handsome cop in Bangladeshi films? Why she have to be so dumb, stubborn and gawky? Why she have to express her love in the extreme moment of bomb disposal? Are you serious! There was no need of dancing and singing in beautiful natural scenario. These was just unnecessary and ridiculous.
The story has a good pace and climax. The character of ashfak was portrayed well. Shatabdi wadud and Arifin shuvo was fabulous. But ace of spade was the villain Taskeen. What a chilling look and eyes!
Overall it was a good movie but would have been much better. I hope Dipankar Dipan (The director) will make a real thriller some day! I will advice people to watch the movie to feel the change!

It debuted as Dipankar Dipon as a film director. This movie made the action films of Bangladesh on another level. "Dhaka Attack" delivers what Bangladesh's film audience have been craving for far too long.
At first, there was a attack on a chemical factory and they steal some chemical. After that some dead body were found with some alphabets written on the body. It tells what is going to happen in the city.
If we talk about actors, Arifin Shuvu and ABM Sumon have done a great job in the movie. And the rest of the actors were good. Especially Taskeen Rahman. In my opinion, he is the next generation villain role of Bangladesh.
