Alien Legacy: Terror on Luxor Ridge

Went in with low expectations given I've never heard of the directors on this micro budget flick, but was pleasantly surprised.

Though complicated, the story holds together well with a number of different strands coming together at the end. The main cast were very strong, some of the supporting actors could have been better but that added to the charm of this film from the UK.

It was perhaps a little long, running just over 2 hours but it packed a lot in to keep me interested. The special effects were particularly good.

If you like indie films then you might like this.

I do hope they make a sequel.

It's always nice to find something a bit different and I think I found it here with Alien Legacy. It won't be to everyone's tastes, but it's a quirky British film with some great dark comedic moments thrown in for good measure.

Whilst this isn't of course on par with a Hollywood blockbuster (the budget for the film though small is well used), the film is well shot with some great views of the British countryside, has some decent monsters which you can actually see (rather than hiding in the shadows) and the lead characters of Kate and Ellie are very engaging.

If you liked The League of Gentlemen (UK series) or The Mighty Boosh, then there are aspects of these series which the film takes some influences from, particularly the dark humour.

If you want to watch a film with monsters, aliens and cannibals, plus a love story thrown in, then give this a whirl.

Film contains nudity (female topless and full frontal), gore and violence....all staples of a good horror movie in my book!

If you like watching low budget films and what people are capable of doing with that, then this film is definitely worth a watch!

A friend of mine came across this and recommended it to me. Like most lower budget films you never know what to expect but I wasn't disappointed, all of the actors did a great job, the script was well written which allowed the audience to really sink their teeth into the characters, and the music score and visual effects really added to the atmosphere.

Just an added bonus for me, I grew up in Horsham so it was great to see some scenes at that location.

Definitely worth a watch!
