The Neistat Brothers

If I could sum up this show in one word it would be GENIUS. This is arguably HBO's best show of 2010. Casey and Van have a very interesting life, and like they know exactly how to portray it. The way this show is made is very unique, Casey and Van have basically made their own genre. This show is hilarious, sad, intellectual, and original, and it wont be topped. Their is no doubt in my mind Casey and Van will be superstars, because they deserve it if anyone.

I must have watched the first season four times, and I am craving for more! Next season will blow us all away.

There are several reasons to be thrilled for HBO's series "The Neistat Brothers"

1. The Neistats have a very sincere, humorous, intense, and (dare I say this in 2010?) optimistic approach to life and movie making.

2. They "made it" on their own terms with out "trying" to "make it"

3.They allow all of us to stick our chests out - their work validates our lives. Their films say "WE matter" and we won't be ignored just because we didn't come into the world with silver spoons.

Basically - what I'm saying is that if you can't find something worth enjoying in the Neistat Brothers work then you might just need to check your Pulse.

Combine Wes Anderson, Spike Jonze, Johnny Knoxville, and Rube Goldberg and you've got the Neistat Brothers. Each episode is a heady mix of cinema verite, stop-motion animation, and stuff your kid brother recorded on his phone and posted on YouTube. You don't know what to expect next from the Neistats, and that's a lot of the fun of this show. Rest assured, though: They'll be someplace interesting, something will probably get broken, and an attractive woman will be standing just outside of the frame at all times. Plus raw flashes of film-making brilliance. Wonder, enthusiasm, creativity, and skewed perspective. I want to see more from Van and Casey!

I discovered the Neistat Brothers on HBO on demand and after the first episode I was hooked. Now my wife is hooked as well. A very honest, engrossing, and very creative look at two people's lives. What this reminds me of is social network stalking on Face Book, but instead of it being your lame friend who is a computer programmer it is two very interesting and funny lives with a lot of talent. And while I don't always agree with all of their perspectives I do find myself as a 28 yr old male agreeing and relating to majority of their commentary on life. While this show doesn't make me want to quit my job and start making movies it does inspire me to have more fun and examine the fascinating surroundings and relationships in my life.

I was blown away and inspired beyond belief and started my YouTube channel because of these brothers. Casey Neistat went on to do amazing things on YouTube while Van ended up doing amazing things flying under the radar on vimeo! amazing and I thank these brother's for inspiring me almost exclusively with their style and creativity which is matched by none.
