Mildly Different

Mildly Different was expected to be released in 2020; however, funding was not fully established until May 2021. The director, alongside Sticky Tape Productions, spent 2 years raising $39k, mainly on Seed and Spark, where the requirements (in the website FAQ section, under "Does Seed and Spark support international projects")) are that a representative must be a permanent resident of the USA or Canada,with a USA or Canada social security number and USA or Canada bank account. The director said in an interview with Buzzsprout that she was able to apply as she is American and has a USA bank account available, even though she resides in Ireland. The other option was to have an LLC registered in the USA with an Employer Identification Number (EIN) provided by the IRS, which was not the case since the director's company is registered in Ireland with the CRO. The film was also funded with an 8k grant from a Disability Connect Scheme funded by Arts and Disability Ireland (for disabled residents of the Republic of Ireland), in order to make the film. The film went into production late July of 2021 and was completed in October of 2021.
