Jeff Garlin has once said he doesn't write any of his material, it's all improv. While it's impressive that he's able to get a special out of droning on and on, maybe it's time he reconsiders the medium. Maybe a podcast would be better suited? If you think writing stand-up specials is BS, then why is your impov comedy so much worse than your written comedies?
Being a funny guy does not equal being a funny standup comedian. If you ever needed something to prove that statement true, then you'd have your show. If you're looking to enjoy a standup comedian, better try your luck elsewhere.

I found his "bits" in the first part of the comedy special to be quite uninteresting and far from clever or humorous. If a comedian doesn't grab my attention at the outset, I switch to something else, which I did about a quarter of the way through his special. I never once laughed, chuckled OR smiled. He may have started his career in stand-up, but he's probably better off closing his career as an actor.
I love Jeff Garlin and I think he's funny but this standup is meh. Don't get me wrong, there are some funny parts but this isn't a very solid special.
There are some funny stories but overall they seem to drone on a little too long. He also tries to pull part of the audience in for a few of the jokes which seems improvised but not in a good way. The special clocks in at 58 minutes but I think he should've trimmed it down to around 35-40 minutes; Maybe some editing for the recording.
When I saw a special from Jeff, I immediately got excited. I watched on release day. If he ever has another special, I'd likely add it to my watch-playlist and get to it whenever I get to it.

Some slow parts but overall an hour that went really fast. I watched it with a smile on my face almost all through the show. The first minutes I thought I wasn't going to like it but when he starts talking about old stand up gigs the show gets hilarious.
Well done Jeff!
This Is really the most boring stand up I've ever watched! (And I love Curb Your Enthusiasm)
