I'm worried in time I might not be able to connect the film's title to the movie, and that would be a shame, because I really enjoyed this!
This low budget feature has a lot of merit. It's a good story, and very atmospheric, and rather creepy at times. There are also some very disturbing scenes. Gabe Fazio is undoubtedly the film's highlight! His performance is incredible. This guy gave his all for this film, and it shows. I felt his happiness, pain and agony, and he was able to convey so much with a simple facial expression. I mean, give him an Oscar already!!
Gabe Fazio stars as Billy Curtis, who returns to a place he remembers from when he was just six years old. Listen carefully to his dialogue, as it plays a big part later in the film and - if you listen very carefully - will explain the ending. Also take note of small details during the course of the film.
There's quite a bit here that has no payoff. Billy constantly complains about his girlfriend, Lisa, spending too much time texting. She also often "has to phone her mother", but it never contributes to the story in any way. In fact, for most parts I didn't really care for Lisa. Billy - or Gabe for that matter - stole the show in every scene. (Ok, but Augie Duke was good as Lisa - lets give credit where credit is due). Towards the end I felt so sorry for Billy - especially after the twist ending. I wonder if everyone will realize what had happened and what this ending actually means? As I said, you have to pay very close attention to what he says during the first act. I loved this film!
