Survive the Tribe

I am a fan of survival type shows and I have watched a lot of them, but these with Hazen Audel are by far the best! The way he interacts with the locals, the way he respects the nature (animals and environment) while he does it. It is what survival should be in my opinion! Hope that there are more like it to come some day!

In this series Hazen goes to different villages and learns how they survive in their particular environment. He treats the people with respect and even learns some of their language to communicate better with them. After following them around, he joins in with a hunt or some traditional experience to show off what he has learned. When I am done watching, I always feel like I know more about the people and place where he was staying.

FYI: Disney+ has this show mislabeled as "Primal Survivor." "Season 1" is actually the sole season of a completely different show called "Survive the Tribe," while "Seasons 2-5" are actually seasons 1-4 of the show "Primal Survivor." This review is focused on Survive the Tribe.

This show takes a completely unique perspective on survival shows. We get to experience the tribe alongside Hazen, learning about tribal customs and how to survive the area directly from the masters of the region. The only reason I don't give this a 10/10 was because sometimes Hazen clearly plays up the danger for a few relatively non-dangerous situations, but these moments are rare in this show. The best part is seeing the expertise with which people have conquered nature, and the joy they have learning that outsiders like Hazen are able and willing to learn from them.
